@rubbaduckgurl27 You DO realize that ANY cat on it's own outside is in a HUGE risk of numerous dangers?? Never let your cat outside freely. Cats can go out in a leash, just teach them from early on.
I just rescued one of these cats from my local MSPCA..hes 5 years old...and my new best friend...I love this breed so much....They truly adore being petted and they love there owners unlike any other cat I have have seen......There very special and recommend them to anyone...
I love cats I can not get enough, no I am not a hoarder! I have a Devon Rex.. Marina and an Oriental Shorthair.. Sasha both the loves of my life check them out . I want a point a Devon or a Cornish Rex or a Siamese. Going to cat shows and searching for a light point lilac or espresso. Love em love em. Check out our Kittys
I have a devon rex and I agree you can't let such a cat go outside. Where a cat is typically scared they are teased. They're a danger to themselves in the wild. LOL Too crazy. I live in SW FL and when I take him out on a leash, he wants to go play with birds and once went crazy enthusiastic when we spotted a gator in the lake near our home! If he went outdoors on his own, he would last a good ten minutes. LOL
Devon Rexes are not recommended for outside. They are too curious, too fast and too risky. Besides they trust strangers too much. Although, we let our girl to go outside from time to time, but under strict supervision. Anyway she is a true Devon Rex, loves human company and quite happy to stay inside with us.
They are not show cats, never been in any shows and never will be. They are part of the family. Devon rexes sometimes don't have whiskers, and if they do, they are curly.
I think you don't know anything about this breed... devons are not shy, quite the opposite. They are extremely friendly and curious.
ok so you dont cut theyr eye lashes like show cat owners do.OK that is theyr breed i understand but in my opinion it is better to be a wild cat than an indoor cat.
@ejap76 and super smart! and shouldermonkeys and they actually dont like to be outside like meny other breeds, they like it warm and comfy yet exciting and fun :D perfect cat for people who lives in flats :) thank you
love lynx points and devons! awesome! I have Sphynx kitties and they have similar personalities...no one will ever know what it's like to have a rex or hairless cat until they actually have one!
in the wild cats stay outside you now.well i have let my cats outside for years and nothing has happened to them and they are very happy.they are very sweet and cute(devon rex)
I'm not gonna argue, and I do think everyone is entitled to their opinion, but my devon rex does go out. I'm not saying I disagree with anyone.
Plus my cat does bird watching too :D

Seeing this reminds me of my parents' 3 Devons which they had over a 20 year span (2 of them looked exactly like these 2 fellas).
They had huge personalities, were completely bonkers + naieve and also incredibly affectionate (in 20 years I didn't hear a single growl or hiss).
If I was to ever get a cat I'd get a Devon, if you like cats I guarantee you'd fall in love with one if you ever owned one.

clairoonnette 4 years ago 2
man, they do that "bak ak ak" thing like my old cat did when she saw a bird. Why do they do that?
professorgreibowitz 4 years ago 2
It is reaction to the frustration of not being able to go and hunt. Just like their tail swings a lot when they see something interesting outside.
ejap76 4 years ago
why dont you let them outside?
poor kitties.
FruitySquerrle26 3 years ago
Responsible cat owners don't let their cats outside without a leash. Also, a spacious cage is recommended.
The dangers that outdoors cat have are (for example):
Wild animals
Cat haters and other asshats
Cars
Getting lost (yes, that CAN happen)
Being stolen
Getting trapped somewhere
Other injuries
