Kinda Unrelated, but I remember when Dime was murdered a few years back, and Gene was saying how he loved the band, he had the band tatooted on his chest, when really he had just Ace, who in the eyes of every sane person is the best musician in that band.

Thayer has the dubious fortune of having to emulate Ace...That's all he has to do in this incarnation of Kiss. Vinnie had to do it for the 'creatures' album but atleast Vinnie was allowed to be somewhat himself in 'Lick It Up'. But Thayer, he has to be like Ace in Kiss. I'm sure he has all the talent in the world.

If you really are a Kiss fan , you should understand that Kullick and all others have never be respectfull to the original songs as they were playing "nowwhere solos" on original tracks but This is why I love Thayer ... he moves like ace and do all the same things at the right time and he respect the original solos ! He his the best to replace space Ace. Even he is not as good guitar player as Kullick, he is the best to do it in KISS , just like the original.

This was filmed at a London show in '89 I believe. This was a song from his 1978 solo album (which was the best of the four in my opinion). People say that Ace isnt a great guitar player, but in my opinion, he is underrated and has a great feel and energy in his playing.

Jamie Oldaker is a highly respected drummer. He's toured and recorded with Eric Clapton, Bob Seger, Stephen Stills, Peter Frampton, The BeeGees, Phil Collins, The Gap Band, Frehley's Comet, etc. I wouldn't exactly call that being a "lame drummer."
