The reasons why Paris lost is because 1.) She was too young for America at the time, 2.) She kinda reminded America of Fantasia which didnt make her fresh, 3.) Wheather you like it or not the judges have persuasion over the audiance and they vote towards how the judges comment. Its a shame because this young woman has a great voice looking back on the years that have passed.

bad song choice for her, she sings it perfectly, but her pipes don't shine with those low notes through most of the song. sometimes wining a competitios it's just choosing the right songs. I specially love Ella Fitzgerald's cover the song. But this girl's voice fits more with something lighter, fresher and younger to be loved by the public. She's a great singer!

That's one of the truest comments I've read here. I'm a singer, and I'm Caucasian. When I've had performances where I sound like crap (rasping with a sore throat, tired, etc.), white people run up and tell me how great I am, how soulful.
