To awnser your question, HECK YEAH!!! i grew up playing 2 player split screen games with my friends and buddies on my ps2. Games like ssx, midnight club, Guitar hero (The Harmoinix versions), star wars battlefront and lego star wars were awesome. The only really good games that dose that now a days is Cod, halo and Rock band. Online can be fun but i the social experience is nothing like the one you get sitting on the couch next to your brother or buddy... and it's a steel with the price of 40$

WOA NVM if you have a 3d tv you might be able to do it now. I just saw some guy did something with the lenses (took them out of 2 and put the left in one and the right in the other. Worked perfectly. Really cool in my opinion)

Couch co op really wasn't my thing as a kid. I just didn't like the way you never had the full screen and it just looks funky. But I've heard of something they are developing that makes it so both players have full screen. That I wouldn't mind.
