  • I love Broderick :3

  • sry-That's *acting*. because they didn't "ace" anything.

  • This particular version of the "Top Five of All Time", CLASSIC musical ,'The Music Man' should be locked away and NEVER viewed again. It's just plain horrid, In my opinion ( and the opinions of MANY others). Or maybe kept around and simply seen as an example of POOR casting, staging, acing, etc.

  • BAWWWL SACK!!!

  • What's the name of this barbershop quartet? I NEED TO KNOW!!!

  • @officejesus1 Spellbinding SIMPLE Salesman.

  • @alwayssearching2012 Spellbinding Symbol Salesman

  • "spellbinding cymbal salesman"

    Alliteration Fail

  • her father i should know i played her in my school play lol

  • When Zanetta says I hate you, is she saying it to Tommy or her Father?

  • @broadwaymike92

That would definitely be her papa...

  • Im marcellus in my schools musical! this should be fun

  • YAH WILD KID, YAH!

  • I am Ethel Toffelmier in my school's play it is a combo of this one the play and the origanal.

  • @giraffe314 it is in this version, but just before the footbridge scene.

  • no shipoopi in this version? :(

  • i like how the fat lady struggles to throw herself in the air at 0:32

  • I'm not very fond of the Quartet in this. I mean, their singing is great, but other than that...

  • fraseology is my favorit fraseology

  • sorry- Robert Preston must have been rolling in his grave- Matthew Broderick as Prof. Harold Hill?

  • "It's Capulets like you who make blood in the market place, yeegods!"

    xD <3

  • From about 7:00 on, Meredith Willson rolled over in his grave.

  • @magnolia9042 I'm a bit confused - did the ladies make peace with Marian?

  • @motownazn

Yes, they did. Which is nice. It's in the play. I was being negative that day, but I won't boter to post my complaints. Basically they see her dancing with the professor and she absolutely glows (they've probably never seen her smile before). Also it turns out that Harold has had them read the books that they were appalled at her for advocating, and now they love them. Basically, the professor has turned her "outcast" status around, and she's accepted now.

  • @motownazn: ya in the script shapoopi is before all of this. not after

  • @motownazn: yes agreeing with magnolia9042. in the script, shipoopi is before tommy reveals he and zaneeta are 'going steady' lol

  • @magnolia9042 This is nearly exact to the script though. even the lines. Sure there are a few alterations here and there but for the most part they are the same.

  • @WickedxWitchx1313 I know it is.

  • @WickedxWitchx1313 I have the script seeing as I play zaneeta. This is not nearly exact. they cut a lot of things, and re-order things that shouldn't have been changed.

  • haha... "We'd rather do it in front of your back"... :)

  • "By the time your band plays its first concert, the individual members will have to forgather in wheelchairs on account of the broken legs they'll get from tripping over their beards!" hahahaaa, nice.

  • there are some real hilarious lines in this scene :L

  • The pickalittle ladies are very funny.

  • "It's Capulets like you who blood in a marketplace!"

Thinking about it, Tommy Jeilers (however it's spelled) and the Mayor's daughter's story is actually kind of like Romeo and Juliet...

  • @jagrosh Tommy Djilas

  • "A coward dies 1000 deaths..the brave man.only..500.." HAHAHAHHA!!

  • my school is doing this play and i think it will be fun...

  • "egg... uh globe" haha egg

  • ommmmg i cant stand the "greacen erns" crapola

  • 2:13

    perfect moment to...

  • Is the mayor the principle of the school or something? He's always there............

  • aw, SHI...poop..i

  • She is gorgeous, she sings like an angel, and she dances divinely. Is is wrong to want to be her???

  • "Not one POOP out of u!"

  • I know the hats are awful. But kristin looks gorgeous in white, she'd make a beautiful bride.

  • she is such a gorgeous girl but why does she where such god awful hats...

  • It's part of the costume. Back during those days, they had god awful hates.

  • @RahGod9090 those are the types of hats they wear back in those days

  • you watch your phraseology!

  • Is the sound off for anyone else?

  • Her face is adorable when she says "few experimental uh... Blats!". She's too cute.

  • 5:45

    her face!!!! its adorable!!!

  • not one poop out of you!!!

im so saying that for now on!!

  • OMG:) i play marian the librarian in my skool production and dis song annoys the hell outa me

  • Isn't the Shipoopi supposed to be after the grecian urns?

  • Yeah, and I thought Tommy telling the mayor that he's dating Zeneeta (sp?) comes after Shipoopi. =/

  • this is so great!

  • The best part about the fact that Kristen Chenoweth and Matthew Broderick were paired up, is that they're both incredibly short. :-)

  • marian looks really pretty in her white dress and hat :)

  • For some reason, the gym reminds me of a Pokemon Stadium... anyway, we're doing this show in May, but we haven't cast it yet. I just hope I'm one of the quartet members...

  • I think the Grecian Urn scene could have been made funnier but I still like it

  • they butchered this song

  • i lurv Kristin's white dress!!!

  • Somehow the "Grecian Urn" scene isn't as funny in this version. But, I do think Matthew Whats-his-name plays a more charismatic Professor Hill.

  • Mrs Shinn- Wasn't she in Dharma and Greg in the 90's?

Whats with all the stupid catch phrases? ITs driving me crazy!

  • no she was in Will and Grace

actually the phrase Tommy says is suppost to be "Great hog"

  • no, the in the actual play Tommy says Jeely Kly.

  • OH, i didnt know that, im thinkning of the Old Movie from the 60s, in that one Tommy says great hog,

  • That movie's from the sixties?

  • not this version, this ones in like 2003 or somewere in there

but theres and old version from the sixties

  • "Mr. Shinn, your honor, your daughter and I are going steady behind your back."

    "Why, you..."

"Well, we'd rather dod it in front of your back, but-"

    "Do what?"

    "Well...uh..."

    "Never mind."

  • haha. wow. i m way too obsessed with wicked. When the piano was playing at 00:22 i thought it was Defying Gravity.

  • the mayor is a..... jerk!!!!! well he's really something worse but yeah...

  • It's waaay easier to see the good that Harold is doing in this version. In the old one it just looks like he's going around spouting lies left and right and he gets rewarded for it in the end. All the emotions are done way better, too!

  • @WeeKid1675 I think that was actually the point of the original. He IS a con man. He's extremely charismatic and gets on everyone's good side, but he's a con man. But then he starts falling for Marian and starts trying to turn things around but it's too late. In the end he confesses everything and starts telling the truth because he wants to give up his conning. He's not a good character. Any good that comes from his being there is completely coincidental up until the end.

  • this is like my FVAORITE part of the whole show!! u can sooo tell shes falling 4 him... ahhh it makes me swoon and wish my life was a musical. =]

  • oh my. i just realized Mrs. Paroo is Debra Monk. She is a great broadway actress.

  • she has a pretty smile!

  • haha the women freinding kristen she looks so cute!

  • I love that you can see she's clearly falling in love with him, especially since she knows just what he's up to and doesn't care anymore. It's just so romantic, in a sense.

    Maybe I'm just a sap, I dunno.

  • If your a sap, then I'm an entire tree. I'm with you all the way.

  • i think im with u on the tree thing!! *melting*

  • DUDE! they changed soooo many lines from the original show!

  • i love this movie!!! i was in it once

  • lol mr's shinn is werid, but even more in the origianal movie XD

  • Wow... Kristen Chenoweth has the most adorable smile. Getting to see her play this role is reason enough for me to be glad they did this remake.

  • NOT A POOP OUT OF YOU!!!! rotfl

  • no they didn't

  • this is probably a stupid question, but that's really kristin playing the piano, right? gosh is there anything she's not good at?! haha! i love her so much!

  • he means peep lol

  • aww this is adorable! kristin is so gorgous!

  • it's so cute when they dance together!!

  • she is a lucky gal to get to dance with him.

  • I just love it when they dance!

  • me too! He's such a charmer and she's just so darn cute-and talented!

  • He is a charmer.

  • "Not a poop out of you, madam!"

    "He means peep."

    Riiiiiiight.

  • thanks for this, im excited for the next part

  • Attack of the old gossips! Run for your lives!

  • lol! :)
