It's been two and a half years since this performance, probably about three years since I first heard this song, and I still cry every single time that I hear it. David is such a great performer, but beyond that, he seems like an even better person. I give him SO much respect for going on stage and being able to perform any song, but especially this one, so soon after his brother died. David may not be the most successful Idol winner, but by far, he's the best in my book!

This performance never fails to move me. David has such an amazing voice and this song is so poignant. And for anyone being a little critical, please give the guy a break...he was emotional b/c this song is about his brother who had just died from cancer. That emotion showed at times in his voice. That doesn't change the fact that he has a powerful and amazing voice and that this is a powerful and beautiful song!

I love David Cook for the same reasons I love Adam Lambert. He puts so emotion into all of his songs, no matter what they're about. Whether its in his voice or in his face you can always see/hear it. I also love the fact that he can sing with outstanding pitch and not go flat randomly. It's so refreshing after seeing so many people that cannot do that.

This is my favorite ballad of all time!! Not only does it have a special meaning for David being written in honor of his brother Adam, it also touches my heart because my Mother was going through hell at the same time. Hopefully the two of them met one another in heaven.
