  • @klyshkonizer hell yeah.

  • I hate the city!

  • good visual!

  • man from which year is this? such an old tune, but still groovin

  • it was very artistic and creative I would recommend it

  • I'm a man and i have boobs

  • very very important track, but believe me - some of my generation already did similar stuff with korg ms 20s (e.g.) between 1979 - 1982, we just didn´t have decent recording facilities to record & produce it. i laughed a bit when i heard this first in 92.

  • @MrSKINFLICK if there's anything that can be learned from popular music, it's that some ideas end up surviving through generations of new musicians and what have you

  • @antsorter: not everybody absolutely needs a music biz career and some"ideas" even musically exist without the sound makers knowing about each other. instruments are instruments, synthesizers are synthesizers. look into my playlist 70s/80s electronics.....i did similar stuff like Thomas Leer/Robert Rental/The Normal or DAF........

  • @MrSKINFLICK That's cool - Patterson openly references seventies works and artists in most of the Orb's early to mid period stuff. 'Toxygene' for example... and the employment of Steve and Miquette on tracks like 'Blue Room', so yeah, there's def some cultural history to this musical movement prior to the early 90's.

Still kicks though, but some of the extended versions really do the biz even better.

  • @KrillLiberator: Thanks for the comment. The comments are still there but the video is deleted in Germany....aaargh ! Certainly will find it again !

  • best ambient tekno ever. alex patterson created a place for trippers to be in the moment and his music inspires me still

  • the orb were so far in front of their own time in terms of videos

  • the had the designers republic on their side ;)

  • instantaneously communicate information across space regardless of distance in what Albert Einstein called "spooky action at a distance"

    YOUR NOT ALONE

  • questa traccia è storica!! superlativa!

  • That must have been recently because I remember having seen an interview in a recent magazine on their latest orb project.

  • awesome!!!!!

  • One of my friends thought I was weird for listening to this. The narrow-minded sod would only listen to Bryan Adams and Queen!

  • If this is weird then how weird would it be to look at documentaries such as Terrorstorm of Alex Jones ... it takes exceptions to be outside the norm and understand more about life/music then the average gene pool.

  • Kool track

  • they're playing coachella!!!

  • one of the best tracks they ever did.

  • It's one dude.

  • I tried to put this song on for a few friends years ago. They told me it sounded like 70's music and asked me to turn it off. Some people just have no taste I guess lol.

  • Oops I meant 70's porn music :)

  • my girlfriend said that shpongle sounded like crazy frog. needles to say i just had to break up with her

  • good move...;p

  • best way my friend lol !

  • lol

  • yes'

  • search DAFT PUNK - BARNY

  • you talk to much motomouth!

  • retard: you should stop eatin shit

  • Video is shit, BUT it was 1992 so can be forgiven. Assassin 'Another Live Version' is without doubt the the most comprehensively challenging and rythmic piece of experimental electronica i've ever heard. Trust me, check it out............drugs preferable 8-)

  • i agree

  • ..ChoCoLaTe hiLl's of BoHol miX*' is the nicesT version 15 min long i think :) .. feEls like Opium ^^

  • As they say from the Americas: 'This is sick'

  • yep :)

  • F'n A brah!

  • this is indeed sick. i want to see them live but having a tough time finding them... boo

  • sickest Orb track ever. Never seen this video before. I wish it was (the Oasis of Rhythm Mix). That goes on for like 12 minutes, and I could definitely use these visuals for longer than 4. :D

  • awesome man!! never seen the video for this :)

  • that was trippy =)

  • If you're tripping on mushrooms, why not sweep them up?? :))

  • :) make sure to send a postcard from your trip. xxx

  • indigo child

  • trippin on mushrooms pplz....

    mind opener !

  • The Universal Huge hide mind rules us!Please trip on!

  • brilliant video but a couple of 'representation' images may have had a interesting effect!

  • you have a good memory ruth

  • The tune is called 'Towers of Dub' on the 'U.F.Orb' album.

Assasin reminds me of being in the womb

  • yo wats the tune called by the orb , its got someone at the start saying something like Hi my names crab, and then theres dogs barking and shit. thanks whoever helps.

  • Neotropic: I love all that stuff as well. Good stuff on Apollo too. Have you seen the Emit artist Gas on YouTube? - awesome video. Search for 'Gas - Microscopic'

  • Brilliant video, probably their best in my opinion. I still wonder why the song's called "Assassin", whether there was any meaning to it, or just a cool title...? My favorite version of this track is the "Chocolate Hills of Bohol Mix"...totally bonkers, great mix that keeps the feeling of the original but tweaks it into music from a fever dream. Sadly, when it was included on the "U.F.Off" best of thing, they edited it very short. Bah.

  • Assassin comes from the word Hashish. During the Crusades, special cadres of Muslim soldiers would smoke hashish and sneak into the enemy camp and stealthily kill an enemy leader. They were known as Hashishin. Over time the "H"'s were dropped and we now have the word "assassin". The song is probably in reference to the original word, Hashish. Happy 4/20!

  • LOL thanks for that!

  • no way!!

  • i was doing overtime in the garage where i worked in 92 when john peel played huge ever growing brain, the full 19mins.i was totally blown away,it changed my whole outlook on music.still love the orb today.

  • I love the Orb as well. Discovered them in 95' (22 then) and was hooked. This was the time when there were many great ambient and ambient dub artists around. Like Sun Electric, Global Communication, Higher Intelligence Agency, Pete Namlook, Tetsu Inoue , System 7, Em:t, FAX Ambient, Instinct Ambient and so on. 1991-2000 were great years for electronic music.

  • Sad that you do not see to much of it anymore. Many of the artists then changed styles now and are not simply not the same anymore /cry. I remember when we had Ambient chill rooms and I spun many of old school raves. But they were slowly pushed out of existence as not many produce such good ambient anymore and many these days know very little about 'good' ambient music. Just glad I maintained my collection of it all.

  • You might still see it in the desert.

  • OMG only one year old in 1992 i was necking copious amounts of LSD then and listening to the ORB. Beleive me you missed the time of your life. ;)

  • yeah happy days :)

  • i was doing acid before i was born mate, back in 1802. HARDCORE!

  • Yeah (.) had to of been there.

  • i heard the oasis of rhythms mix of this tune in the fatmoon tent at shamania festival (lancashire) this year. thanks to the dj!

  • Argh love The Orb. I wish I was born earlier. I was only one years old in 1992 :(

  • What can we say, Our generation and the one's before, since the whole big bang.Looking for that feeling, that awesome intense awe inspiring electric fuzzy glo... I can no longer see as clear, do you have the cure? Sure Hoffman said then laughed at what he'd said

  • Vil egentlig dra fram Canterburyproggen, Krautrocken og new waven som grunnlag og drivkraft for min videre kjærlighet til ambientmusikk som Orb/orbital/System7/astralasia/Shamen etc.

  • ùù

  • aliculeli:

I wrote a short personally thing just for fun for those scandinavian viewers... Something about the connection between krautrock and the ambient scene. I did however knew that writings in norwegian could cause some minor communication glitches :)

Anyway.. This video is a truly classic...

  • And how would you know its "bound to the limits of biology and environment"? I am not a mindless materialist my friend who arrogantly thinks science knows it all. The mind goes a lot further than just the brain my small minded friend. And since science knows very little about the human brain and mind, my comment that the human mind and imagination is limitless is correct, until they understand it totally, its potential is perpetual.

  • k***ing a!

  • one of the best tracks they ever did. microdots sunny mornings.sunny people.raves better days etc.

  • aaahhhhh nostalgia. 1992, my first acid trip, sunny beach, few clouds in the blue sky, waves splashing the beach and causing beautiful stimulation, with the orb playing in the background. i havent heard this in a long time....................

  • bloody nostalgija :)

    sve je tako leeeeeeepo

  • One-note wonderfulness..

  • I saw them live in Washington DC about 6 months aog. Very Nice Show!!!

  • my favorite orb was orblivion...especially tracks 2, 3, & 4

  • Its The Orb, there are no reasons why. There is no logic or reason in the human imagination, it just is. The human imagination is limitless, and with no limits to measure, there will never be a reason a why or absolute answer that you can put your finger on. Which of course is why The Orb are so effective and brilliant. There doesn't need to be a reason, just pure unlimited conscious and unconscious imaginational universal thought of mind and spirit. Let your imagination think for you :)

  • youre an idiot

  • I see Jonojoko you did not let your imagination think for you, because you don't have one, being the best and most profound reply your limited brain could think of was "youre an idiot" and even then with that intellectually limited comment you did so with no grammar or punctuation what so ever, you even spelt it wrong, which ironically puts the title of idiot squarely in your court.... LMAO!!!

  • How would you know if it's limitless? It's bound to the limits of biology and enviroment, and so are you.

    Hence, you're talking shit.

  • great band

  • More gills, less fishcakes.

  • Orb is Orb!

  • that vid's made for trippin, bloody great

  • The Orb rocks

  • Uninspired? Don´t think so mate. One of the best Orb tunes ever. Menacing.

  • Assasim was a turning point. It all went downhill from here, which was a shame. Still a good track to bootleg with.

  • saw em at barrowlands glasgow in like 92 or sumfin wen they xperimentin wi 3d-stereo.... fuckin amazin. was fun spottin the folk that took acid hehe frrreakout!

  • Awesome saw them last week at the Coco - old Camden Palace in London. Good graphics here. I'm an old techno fan.

  • haha me too

  • Makes me wanna get real HIGH!

  • I'm sure plenty will agree that this is a pretty uninspired single mix that doesn't go anywhere and leaves you pretty empty.

  • Orb was my induction to techno, along w/ Leftfield. Feast on the vintage rave visuals.

  • Always loved the Orb.
