The first time I heard Crooked I was on Sickology 101, and in my opinion, the first time EVER and probably only time ever that Tech N9ne has been outdone by a guest on his own track.
Tech N9ne is solely responsible for me discovering underground Hip Hop. I'd never heard anything like it the first time I heard his Absolute Power & Everready stuff 5/6 years ago. Really opened me up to a genre of music I thought was just about bragging about money & women.
I can't compare these two - Crooked is more of a beast on the track, what he does is more about pure writing/rhyming/delivery skills for the purists. Tech N9ne does more artistic and conceptual stuff, usually with a theme, so its not easy to say who is better.
This wasn't even Crooked's best work, TechN9ne's either tho. Techn9ne's raw but my money's on Crooked. Crooked's got swag on his tracks, techn9ne just spits like a machine, no swagger to it

I love Tech, but put their bars up line by line: Crooked's are much more complicated than Tech's are. His rhyme scheme's are almost as relentless as Big Pun's were and his metaphors go way over a lot of people's heads.

This is hard for me.
The first time I heard Crooked I was on Sickology 101, and in my opinion, the first time EVER and probably only time ever that Tech N9ne has been outdone by a guest on his own track.
Tech N9ne is solely responsible for me discovering underground Hip Hop. I'd never heard anything like it the first time I heard his Absolute Power & Everready stuff 5/6 years ago. Really opened me up to a genre of music I thought was just about bragging about money & women.

I can't compare these two - Crooked is more of a beast on the track, what he does is more about pure writing/rhyming/delivery skills for the purists. Tech N9ne does more artistic and conceptual stuff, usually with a theme, so its not easy to say who is better.
