Waits isn't just a singer/songwriter/poet he is an actor who gets into the characters he sing/writes about. Often there is some tongue and cheek humor, but he also has some real understanding of moments of tenderness even in the murkiest of places. I love his stuff. Anyone see him in "Coffee and Cigarettes" Great movie.
