  • they should have paid the $75 dollars, that one on them.

  • I am not a firemen ,if I was I do not think I could just stand there and watch or sit back at the station knowing someone's house is burning down. While their house is burning down.

  • The next step is to opt whether or not you want your portion of national defense. Don't pay your taxes? Your name goes on the "terrorist's no repercussions list."

Got money? No problem. Poor? f* you- you don't deserve 911 protection. I love the way legislators are letting america fall apart (sarcasm).

  • The Right-Wing are concerned with Property Rights and Profit Motive, Whereas The Left-Wing are concerned with Human Rights and Human Concerns. The Right-Wing Agenda basically boils down to Self-Centered Egoism where the rule of the jungle is survival of the most competitive and well off individuals and death to those who fall short. Conservative Ethics is a slippery slope to Eugenics and Social-Darwinism. it is a regressive and backward ideology.

  • @Waydejack Yeah, because only socialist/communist regimes throughout history have done that, and we all know those are right wingers.... Read a book, thanks. The left wing is concerned with power brokerage, not human rights, the more zombies they can get underneath them, because they promise welfare/"human rights" the better. You need to wake up. And read a book.

  • @SacrificedAlive What like Hayek, Mises and Friedman? all of which is bullshit not based on scientific analysis. besides, i've read plenty of books, i have a whole library in fact, i would suggest you read lies concerning the history of the soviet union and another view of Stalin by Ludo Martins. apparently you accept the lies of the capitalist ruling class. i am a staunch Marxist-Leninist and i wont change my mind and i wont compromise either so dont try.

  • @Waydejack Oh no, NOT SCIENCE(in your view only), just ignore historical precedent and/or experience. LOL Why don't you move to a communist country then? Oh wait, because you are all hypocritical pussies.

  • @SacrificedAlive first of all books like the black book of communism have already been discounted as propaganda by scholars and recent articles have discredited much of robert services allegations. one thing you have to understand is im fighting for a world socialist society, every country must become socialist, so America will either become it now or later, but it will happen. i ain't no pussy, i am more of a man then you'll every be you brainwashed punk!

  • @Waydejack Black book of communism? Lol Why don't you just read a little history, say WWI or II. You are a pussy. If you really believed it, you would have the spine to move to a socialist country, which you obviously consider so great. But you don't have the manhood. Instead, you are just another spoiled brat that is too weak to plan ahead for his own future and thinks that everyone else should for you.

  • @SacrificedAlive And if Stalin is so great, how come he had to kill 50,000,000+ of his citizens? What a great leader... Oh wait, this is the same guy that had his own personal economist executed(because he was doing what Stalin told him to do), and gave his own son a life sentence in the gulag for fighting for their country. Glad to see you have such great role models.

  • @SacrificedAlive i never said Stalin was a great leader, he had his good things, but mostly bad. my role models are Marx, Lenin and Che Guevara, but there are alot of propaganda against leaders like Stalin and Mao who did make mistakes, but name a leader or administration that hasn't, like Bush. Deaths under Stalin weren't no 50,000,000+, more 7.5 million. maybe you should read the soviet archives that are available online douche.

  • @Waydejack You obviously have NOT read anything on ANYONE you have mentioned. LOL

  • @SacrificedAlive i have read all of Marx's writings, all of Lenin's writings and read about Che Guevara's life written by Jon Lee Anderson. i have also read ten days that shook the world by John Reed, My disillusionment in Russia Emma Goldman and The History of the Russian Revolution by Leon Trotsky. So i know what i'm talking about. I've read Permanent Revolution and the Revolution Betrayed by Leon Trotsky.

  • @SacrificedAlive i've read about the russian revolution and Soviet history alot of the numbers are sensationalized for example the Ukranian famine caused the deaths of 3 million people not just because of Stalin's collectivization policy, but because of the hoarding of the rich kulaks who killed their cattle and burned their wheat fields which caused food shortages and epidemics.

  • @SacrificedAlive So you want me to leave this country in the hands of some backward brainwashed bastard like you? hell no, i going to fight for a socialist America and America will become a socialist country by any means necessary. you dont fucking know me, i aint no spoiled brat i've worked for everything i got, but i feel that everyone should have a fair shake in this world not just me, im not a self-righteous cunt like yourself.

  • @Waydejack Why don't you leave and go to a commie country if it is so great? You do not feel everyone gets a fair shake, you only feel that you deserve more without working for it! When my FICA taxes are paying for you fat ass to retire, and you see me living off of investments, that still won't be enough for you! That is how you predators operate. You can't stand the fact that other people do NOT need you to survive in this world.

  • @SacrificedAlive first of all, no country is Communist, because Communism is a stateless and classless society and neither are they fully Socialist either. yes i do, i feel everone should have the same opportunities as i do. there are millions of Americans under poverty, in fact 80% of the world is in poverty. i am not a Communist for self, i am a Communist because i am for humanity as a whole my struggle is not about me. what can't stand is people being thrown under the bus.

  • @SacrificedAlive Second, i love America and it's people, but America is not defined by it's economic system, it is defined by it's sovreignity and it's sovreignity is based on the will of the people. the people are what make this country what it is, everything else is just relative. Capitalism will fail as it has in the past and i will be there as have all my comrades in the past saying, " i told you so."

  • @Waydejack And refer to my first comments you under-educated, whining, crybaby.

  • @SacrificedAlive i am not uneducated just because im a Communist, maybe i know things that you don't. you try so hard to discredit me, but you can't discredit something when your looking at it from a singular point of view. im not whining, im stating facts and the result is this, that when your system crashes and burns cause its unsustainable we will be waiting to lead America into the future. Socialism will reign in America, by any means necessary.

  • Why didn't they put the fire out and charge them for services. Just like the medical community does. If you donate to a local Ambulance company they will not charge you for services, however they will bill your insurance company. Conversly if you choose not to donate then they will bill your insuranc company and charge you for services used in that transport. I am a paramedic I work in the private sector and this fire Dept. is an embarrassment to all emergency workers.

  • 156 views........ Now watch when i come back its gonna be lile um........55695994 views. Or some shit

  • these people lost everything, we pay tax's to cover fees like this. a person should have to pay for safety like this, these people lost every thing they owned. and they that woman is a bitch for thinking they deserved to lose everything

  • No bull...that's life. You pay to play

  • And they've forgot to pay their fee before! What's gonna happen if they put this fire out for them and others who don't pay then someone who did pay needs their service and they can't help because the truck is broke down and they don't have the funds to fix it? Then what? They screwed up and paid the price. A house can be replaced so get over it.

  • You don't pay your bills and what happens? They take your house or car or shut your utilities off

  • @firetruckie101 bulllll

  • May I suggest that the firemen read the FIRE FIGHTERS PRAYER. it was written for All fire fighters

  • 1. They didn't watch the house burn.

    2. They where called back out to put out a field that caught fire...they paid the $75

  • WTF is wrong with you ppl that think it is ok for some1s house to burn -- fking morons. W T F is WRONG with you ppl. GO look in the fking mirror and say WTF IS WRONG WITH ME!! I have a family of firefighters - all who have risked their lives over and over -- not for money you fks!!! Just get the fk out!!

  • Im a firefighter also, I have seen this many times and heard about it. Im at a fire station where the town i live in doesnt want a firestation anymore and refuse to pay for fire services. We asked for a fire station but the town turned it down, so we respond out of a 2 car garage. Now the only thing i have to say, and maybe some other fellow firefighters would say, is that "I wish you would stop thinking that it wouldnt happen to me"

  • Im a firefighter and i think that is bullshit we are supposed to protect and serve im srry but those guys made a mistake.

  • this has nothing to do about firefighters and everything about the municipal gov providing adequate fire protection. Fighting a structure fire on a building that isn't covered by fire protection is a liability for firefighters and the fire department.

  • oh noo the dogs on fire should we help them? no they didnt pay THE FUCKING 75 DOLLERS!

  • The guy on this video is as ignorant as they come, and so is anyone else who gets on board this giant pity party ride the Cranicks have created. I live a few minutes from where this happened and have a family member who worked in dispatch when this happened. The fire dept. DID respond. See allthatremains2009's number 3 comment for why they didnt put it out. My family member didnt even have anything to do with this situation. She now suffers from harrasment from assholes like this. Makes me sick.

  • I am a firefighter and helping people is what we do no matter rich or poor! If i see a house on fire or someone who needs help it is my duty to help, im not going to sit and watch just because they didnt pay!... The woman in black is ignorant acting like everyone can afford the $75. A firefighter is there to help his community no matter what and standing by is not helping anyone!

  • @swimstaryup, there are real private departments that put out fires regardless of whether the people are rich or poor, and sort out who pays later. This was basically a government one though, even though it's "technically private".

  • It's easy to talk about it when it isn't your house. You just don't realize how bad things are and how little people care until a public service becomes a private practice.

  • @Konspiracie, no, it was a public service, they just had the choice if they wanted it or not. You can't force people to only make decisions you approve of, nor can you protect them from their own stupidity.

  • @Houshalter You would have a different point of view if it had been your house and your parents had not paid. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I believe they have kids, kids who now don't have a place to go after school or a place to bring their friends over to play. Rules are rules, but exceptions can be made, especially since they said they would pay anything; the fire dept. could have charged an extra fee. THAT makes total sense.

  • @Konspiracie, a private fire department probably would charge the extra fee, I think most do. But even if they didn't, it was their choice. They took the risk to jump out of the plane without a parachute, don't feel sorry for them or try to force everyone else by your expensive, low quality parachutes either.

  • @Houshalter You win.

  • Ya know people need to think of there firemen before a fire, pay the taxes that needs to be paid so the services don't have to go private.. I mean no one cares until something is going on with them and they need the service..My husband is a fire fighter i know that it couldnt have been easy for these guys to not put it out...but they have protocals and people to answer too...Guess all I am saying is people should bitch about things they dont wanna pay for...We do it to ourselves

  • It's funny how Muthafuckers are looking at everything in terms of republicans and democrats. Both parties are on the same side, they both work for the corporations. That's why they won't allow a viable third party. The goal is to privatize profits and socialize costs. Obama has continued most of bush's fucked up policies i.e the wars. Hilary campaigned against Black Water yet she's using them to provide her security. People wake up take back your country.

  • 1. its pronounced O-bi-un county.

    2. i would like to come through this computer screen and beat the living FUCK out of this guy on here.

    3. i live about 50 miles from where this story happened. the fire dept DID respond to possibly rescue trapped people, but if a firefighter got hurt, his insurance would not cover him because this was a considered a volunteer act on him as an individual. the peopl knew beforehand that they were supposed to pay the fee.

  • @allthatremains2009

The reasonable thing to do in such case is to double the price after the fire had been estinguished.

That way the guy pays for his mistake and learns that there are consequences tohis actions but it will still have a house.

The army is still going to protect you in the war against Mexico even if you cheated on your taxes.

  • @allthatremains2009 i cant beleive that there are people as stupid and inhumane as you

  • and finally, the guy in plaid is a major cunt.

  • That the reason given for making ObamaCare mandatory is that, if everyone isn't forced to pay, they won't until they show up to the emergency room with a serious ailment and suddenly try to buy an insurance premium. This guy was cheap, didn't want to contribute, and got burned for it. Do you think that anyone else in that town is going to make the same mistake? Furthermore, at least he had the option of not having to buy it (which might have been a good call if he had sprinklers). We don't.

  • I don't claim to take pleasure in anyone's loss, but these people could have paid the $75 (which is about $6.25 a month, or less than 21 cents a day). Those monies presumably go towards paying the firefighter's salaries, and for their equipment. Instead, as is evident on one of the other videos on youtube, the owner "thought" they would put it out anyway, even if he didn't pay the fee. Before you liberals decry the great injustice of them not putting out the house, I'd like to point out

  • the bitch in black is a major cunt.

  • WOW! No one really gets it here!!!! The point is, firefighters' jobs are paid for by the taxes.,.. These extra fees are simple extra taxes.... firefighters are basic infrastructure... the whole chain of command should be disciplined. People's pets died. The man said, I'll pay ANYTHING!... and btw, if it were private, that phrase would have elicited immediate service.... This should not be happening on so many levels!!!! Bottom line- There should not be a fee and firemen should respond.

  • Mike is just playing the antagonist...he can't honestly believe what he is saying. Their neighbors helping?! Seriously? If one of your "neighbors" gets hurt their lawyer will cream you. Make public services like police, fire, ems etc. mandatory and minimize the idiocy. Also if it costs 75 bucks to make the fire dept put your blazing house out, PAY IT YOU MORON! You put your family at risk for 7 large pizzas don't push the blame onto anyone else.

  • @Wingnutspankah What? Please go to school.

  • Two of these people believe that people who don't pay for firefighters should be evicted and their home taken away by the city? That's the way they do it in my town where fire protection is mandatory. If you don't pay for it, they will sell your house for back taxes. Or do they think that anyone who does not want to pay, or forgets to pay, should expect everyone else to pay for them? Or are they saying that we have a right to expect others to risk their lives for no pay at all?

  • If the fire department would have responded to the first house, the second house wouldn't have caught on fire. The owner's of the second house should sue the fire department.

  • I am a firefighter and this is a crock of shit. As firefighters we are swore to protect the citizens of our areas. $75 dollars isn't a good reason to stand there and watch someones house burn down to the ground.

  • @halliwellco50 Ever heard of insubordination? If you had gotten hurt doing this you lose your job and are paying your own medical bills without a career.

  • @ChivalrysDownfall How could you do that to a person. Where is the theory of helping other around you. If america has become about spending 75 dollars for firefighters to save your home then this country isn' t all it's cracked up to be then is it.

  • @halliwellco50 I'm with you man but it was 75 bucks and they chose to risk it! Really!? Is it worth the risk? Firefighters should be a mandatory thing because of people like this. Now I think the firefighter were wrong to let it burn, they should have put the fire out and slapped them with a huge fee. How terrible is it that the firefighters let their house burn down? I say how terrible is it that these people could have spent 75 dollars and avoided all of this.

  • @halliwellco50 Yeah, I'm an alcoholic and I was driving without insurance, and I got in a car wreck while intoxicated, and I pleaded with the officer saying I would even pay DOUBLE for car insurance and that I INTENDED to go to AA meetings, but he didn't believe me. I feel discriminated against. Can anyone help me?

  • @SacrificedAlive your a idiot

  • @georgethe09 How so? Couldn't follow my sarcastic logic?

  • Wonder what his Homeowners Insurance said about this?

  • This is not a private fire department! LOL It was a government one.

It's hilarious that this guy says this system has some kind of liberal agenda. This is a southern state with REPUBLICAN mayors who set these laws. They have been operating this way for over 20 years! Laughable. Who has the agenda here? The guy in the interview.

  • That Mike is a real idiot.

  • Someone needs to seriously slap that women. The firefighters had the ability to put out the fire, enough said. At worst put out the DANGEROUS fucking fire and charge a penalty fee to the family. The South really needs better education to teach these people how to make decisions.

  • -pimp slaps that stupid bitch in the middle- Shut the fuck up hoe!

  • This is some bullshit!

  • Nobody mentioned the Christian point of view (which the right wing love to claim they believe, and that America is based on - it's not, but that's not my point).

Go read Luke Ch10 v25-37 to see what Christian's should do.

Anyone who believes it was right to let the house burn down cannot call themselves a Christian.

  • soon they'll be chargin by the gallon for fire water

  • I'd wreck that chick

  • That's interesting because virtually all fire departments received revenue sharing from state governments bailed out by the federal government. I assume the family has money deducted for federal taxes.

  • I'd like to smack that lady in the face......and I never smack women......

  • "No risk to humans" what about the dogs and cats, what about the family's belongings, what about their livelyhood, what about their memories, what about common decency........ why don't we let the rich watch their houses burn down as the common man enforces his right to a basic service

  • Comment removed

  • She pronounced Obion County wrong. A lot of rural areas of the country even have Volunteer Fire Departments and this is just dead wrong and being poor or late on bills is just Un -American. Where the hell is Compassion America?

  • Dear god, leftists are stupid.

MONEY DOSEN'T FALL FROM THE SKY PEOPLE. THE TOWN COULDN'T AFFORD THEIR OWN FIRE DEPARTMENT SO THEY USED ANOTHER TOWN'S. THAT TOWN'S FIRE DEPARTMENT CAN'T GO RUNNING EVERY WHICH WAY FOR FREE, SO YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE PRIVELIDGE OF USING THEIR FIRE DEPARTMENT.

IF this fire dept. was funded by taxes, it would be a different matter. THEN they would have a right to its services.

  • "Note to self" - Stay the hell out of Tennessee.

  • Has anyone noticed that they were trying to entertain themselves while discussing this serious case? I just cannot imagine myself telling someone "...if your house is on fire..." with such a huge smile on my face

  • a totally abhorrent psychopathic woman. advocating that sometimes it's "principled" to let someone's house burn. "if a house is more flammable u have to pay more". fucking whore

  • The world is messed up..

    Check out the zeitgeist movement

  • Wow...young super conservatives are even scarier than the old pricks! Katherine obviously grew up very pampered and privileged.

  • Only in America.

  • This was a GOVERNMENT fire department. This guy on the left is trying to have it both ways. He's blaming the woman from Reason Magazine for believing that a private fire department would do a better job when it was HIS PRECIOUS GOVERNMENT that didn't do the right thing.

  • How about this one Alyona, iF our taxes actually went into serving the people instead of serving the interest of the Rich and Wealthy, we might have less of these problems.

Then again, if we as a people learn how to design homes to be fire resistent by using Science and Technology, maybe these fires won't occur in the first place.

Instead of having insurance, that $75 could go into a fund for building fire resistent homes and buildings, but if someone doesn't have it, then oh well.

  • wow... goes to show how F'ed up USA has become....

  • lol she said oh this was aboout people helping others.. i mean after the fire the thrift store helped... HELLO. people helping would be putting the fucking fire out! she said its like auto insurance etc.. well if your car catches fire... they will put it out. now you might not get money for it if you didnt have insurance but they will put the fire out or drag it off the road... hell even cut you out of it if your stuck after an accident. geez right wing nut jobs. hope her house burns down!!!!

  • This is why there SHOULD NOT BE AN OPTION for something like this. It affected more than just his house. It a matter of public safety for the entire town. This is GOP privatization gone wild. Sick. Oh, well.

  • @OhZoneFan you must be in the same league as pro lifers and drug prohibitionists . Always trying to limit the peoples ability to choose. SHAME ON YOU

  • @uche007us LOL I think you be trollin! Sure I want to limit people's right to chose in this case, if it endangers my family.

  • @OhZoneFan Am just going by your post. You asked why the govt would give people the chance to opt out. That my friend is limiting their options. This is the same reasoning the banks gave to automatically give us all overdraft protection, who knows when you will run out of money in the middle of Obion county

  • Conservatives will never try to privatize the police department because if the police didn't respond the American people would rip their evil conservative faces off. Conservatives need LOTS of police protection!

  • Hmmm ... what if the Fire Department started the fire in first place?

Pay your protection money... or else

  • @Yaheuben66

Yes, just like an extortion racket !

"If you don't pay, we can't be held responsinle for hw warm it may get!"

  • his roommate cop is a total noob! cops don't give a shit!!!

  • first time i heard this happen in the greatest country in the world... if you dont like america go suck a chode but dont go saying "only in america" as if you know besides what u hear on tv, internet which could be very biased -->>>TruthAndMoreTruth

  • @serge421UA it may be great but face it its falling apart!

  • set the fire department on fire.

  • I can't even begin to describe my dislike for Katherine Mangu-Ward. This is absolutely the most immoral, deplorable, sickening, SELFISH attitude I have EVER seen! All these people care about is money. Their greed is a most loathsome characteristic of a deeply disturbed group of people. Also, $75 *is* a lot of money, especially to people living in rural TN communities; and I guess the 4 pets' lives that *were* lost in the fire just don't count. This is the most insane thing I have ever heard of!

  • People like firefighters, so of course the filthy gov't is out to f**k that up too...

  • Haha we used to have this in the UK when the fire service first got started with one difference: if your neighbour hadn't paid the fee and their house caught fire, but you /had/ paid the fee, they would still come out and put out the fire, specifically to protect your property, rather than waiting for the fire to spread before they acted.

  • If I don't have flood insurance for my house and it gets flooded, then I'm shit outta luck. The homeowners in question didn't have the fire insurance they knew they needed if they wanted fire protection. They explicitly chose to not have fire protection. And now they're shit outta luck. Chick = 1, Dude = 0, homeowners = idiots.

  • @sparx832

fires spread from one point to others, like it did in this case which was the point when the firefighters acted. that means that they watch while the property of a paying neighbour was damaged.

if i would produce ammunition and explosives and have hundreds of neighbours but i refuse to pay for firefigther services, would you agree to just let my production and storage buildings burn down? or if i'm a simple homeowner that has fuel or propane tanks?

  • @JustACopyCat nah thats the only reason they showed up because a neighbor who was worried for their property called the fire dept. since they did pay the $75 fee.

  • @sparx832: it wasnt a fire insurance, since the FD isnt an ins. agency selling ins. policies. it was a srvc fee.

if it's all about $, then the FD could've charged an after-srvc fee, like $3k, for those who didnt pay the $75 upfront & still made a profit since they were there anyways standing by waiting til the fire hit the property line.

other rescue agencies have charged for srvcs rendered as have other govt agencies for child support, late taxes, etc.

  • @sparx832 couldn't agree more with ya...

  • In answer to her first question I think I would move.

    What is Alyona's real job?

Is it to create fear, discontent, and dissent amongst the American public or

is it to make us aware of certain causes and effects so that we can avoid them.

For the people people that live in that little place near South Fulton, Tennessee I would say the later.

For the other 300 million inhabitants of the USA I would say the former.

  • since when did public services became privatized? this is bull trash! if that's the case, then why on earth are we still paying taxes?????

  • Did Russia forget to pay their fire service bill last month when entire villages burned to the ground and Moscow was choked with smoke.

  • This chick is so wrong and so heartless when Mike said what if they was poor and she said 75 dollars is not a lot of money well yes it is if the person had no job. It's like you are not worth a cent with out money what about helping one another giving to the need looking out for one another we lost that it's all about money without it your nothing it's sad really and it makes me sick. This is why are world is so messed up

  • @angelaxoxox

Not to mention here segue into if a poor family does have their house burn down "this is an example of communities coming together, the thrift shop told them they could have whatever they wanted"

I mean. . . this woman has to have a frickin' screw loose and rattling. If you're poor and can't afford the fee, that's fine, we'll STILL let your house burn down, but maybe you'll get luck and someone will give you someone elses cast of clothes to wear.

  • @angelaxoxox You seem not to realize that if it wasn't for the fee, 75 dollars would be attached to taxes. So, obviously the township in which this family lived has 75 dollar cheaper taxes, so there is no loss.

Think with your brain, not with your emotions.

  • Conservative politics only work in the boonies, where no one wants to live, and where people see neighbors as potential enemies. Let's sell Tennessee to Mexico,

  • WHAT FREAKING MORAL CODE DO YOU HAVE TO WATCH SOMEONE'S HOME BURN DOWN?!?!?! Woah money is a terrible thing. And you would think these people have souls. Public schools should teach ethics. This is a national service not a private service (or at least of what i know of).

  • katherine ward house need to burn up, see if that wipe that dam smile off her face then.

  • theyshould have put the house out.

  • I'm not so scared of socialism.

  • total bs if they have to make money why not put the fire out and send him a bill. I blame the Mayor

  • this seems like a really low-key SNL sketch.

  • The one in the middle is an idiot.

  • Americans don't need car insurance for an ambulance to bring them to the emergency room after a car accident. The govt doesn't make sure everyone on the highway has car insurance before they clear the accident from the road. He is brilliant. He is exactly right that her rightwing principles are held by the wealthy upper class, but this position is only held by a fraction of a percentage of Americans. Only a sociopath could hold the position she does.

  • "Hello, 911, my credit card number is.............. PLEASE HURRY"!!!!!

Only in America. What a f•cking JOKE!

  • @TruthAndMoreTruth LOL, I can totally see a day when what you described will be the case.

  • @TruthAndMoreTruth Your a joke. This is the tax there. If you don't pay you don't get services. Dumbass

  • makes me wanna move to mexico where the homes are adobe and drugs are free fuck america and its fees

  • @TruthAndMoreTruth Hey, emergency services aren't free you know, just because you don't pay for private emergency services, you still gotta pay for your 911 calls with your tax money

  • @ihatefatpeople3000

True, but then again, with publicly funded services, everyone pays (thus lessening the financial burden) and everyone gets a piece of the pie. Further, charging, AHEAD OF TIME, for an emergency service you may or may not use is inherently idiotic anyway. Do you pay for your ambulance ride prior to using it? Or do you get the ride to the hospital, THEN get the bill? Last I checked, the fee is charged for services rendered, NOT services that might be rendered.

  • to me, the family knew what they were doing and they should have thought about what would happen...

  • @Sexisttroll what if the choice was food or fire insurance ?

  • @SilentKiller01 then the should've added the size of the house... If can't afford the insurance for a Ferrari buy a Honda...

  • @Sexisttroll: it wasnt an insurance. it was a service fee. there's a big difference. and if $ is the only motivating factor to spray water on a burning house w/ pets inside, & possibly ppl, then the FD could've charged an after-srvc fee, like $3k, & made a profit since they were standing there anyways waiting til the fire hit the property line.

  • @rumpole33 they did that last time... and the Insurance was just an example I'm not talking about their house insurance... however people need to learn... they gave them a second chance and they blew... if you're not gonna pay for the service, then why would you have it... although I agree that since the person said that they were going to pay anything if they save the house then why wouldn't the firefighters do it...

  • @Sexisttroll: learn what? stupid ass ppl who set up tight-ass examples & allow a man's pets & house to burn down over $75 when the neighbor offered $5000 on the spot & so did the owner & his son? why should there be an extra fee for the srvc when the owner paid his taxes already that should've gone to the FD instead of building a $3mill unused prison?

  • @rumpole33 I think they don't pay taxes for the FD... thats the point... they use the FD in a privatize manner even though is a public servicer (however from ANOTHER city)... meaning people could choose to pay for the service... they didn't... they were allowed once to pay after the service was done but they didn't take it as a warning... business is business...

  • @Sexisttroll: the republican controlled county commission had the taxpayers' $ to pay for the FD outside of s. fulton city, but they refused to expend $ for it. instead they built a $3million unused prison. watch gene cranick's interview w/ olbermann. his son todd refers to misspending as well & asks for an investigation. unless it's a private FD corp., it's not 'business is business' since it's a public srvc. putting out fires a.s.a.p. is vital in fighting all forms of fires.

  • @Sexisttroll: there could've been injured unknown ppl in there; explosives from tanks, gaslines, fuel containers, generators, boilers, pollutants, etc; unpredictable as always wind; brush fires, etc. if u dont put out a fire immediately, ppl can die & the fire spreads uncontrollably. this was done to set an extreme example -not cuz of the lack of $75 since they refused the $5k offered by the neighbor. so if it's 'business,' then they missed a $5k rev. as well as destroying a future 'consumer'

  • @Sexisttroll: i meant the FD refused the $5000 on-the-spot offer to put out the fire. so what kind of 'business' refuses not only the $75 but also $5k (which is possibly a profit revenue).

nothing this FD says makes any sense, monetarily, legally, & also in terms of general common sense & decency.

  • "so if it's 'business,' then they missed a $5k rev. as well as destroying a future 'consumer'"

yep I guess you're right... firefighters were pretty stupid to loose money that way... what a bunch of idiots... they've could've made a shitload of money... duh...

  • @Sexisttroll: yeah, cuz apparently these firefighters work only based on a list of who gives them $75 or not. otherwise, they've shown they'll just stand around & watch a house burn to the ground waiting for it to hit the property line, regardless of the numerous pleas, 9-11 calls, the offers of $ by the owners as well as the neighbor, & regardless of pets & other potential explosives (pipelines/fuel containers/brush fires/errant winds) & possible unbeknownst ppl inside...

  • @Sexisttroll I thought it was $75 flat rate ? And with the city paying $75 a house a year why not just build your own station? I still blame the mayor

  • So the guy basically wants the government to take care of anything and everything throughout our lives...am I understanding him? As far as the story goes, the family didnt protect their greatest wealth(home) by paying for fire services, they gambled and lost...on the flipside the fire dept. should have put it out then sent a bill

  • Except usually firefighting services are paid for by taxes. IMO, more relevant to the specific story, they should have put it out regardless because of the risks associated with it not being contained and being allowed to burn.
