The lean is set up. You need special shoes and the stage is set up so the dancers can do it. No one can physically do the 45 degree angle lean. So there could have been a malfunction with the shoe/stage or the guy could have missed his mark. Not entirely his fault really.

Guys, Guys, the lean was not done because his apparatus did not work. He could not the full lean because he would have fell. There is something on the floor that their feet has to fit into that allows them to lean that far. Apparently, when this dancer went to his point he could tell that his was not working. That is why he did not lean properly.
