  • Hmmz, very interesting. But I don't think that this particular method of assembly has been put in practice during the latter part of WWII. Or did it? It seems to be a very time consuming job carried out by skilled people who know the procedures inside out. Or am I mistaken on this one?

  • This is the field assembly procedure. At bases where hangars with proper hoists were available, they wouldn't have had to use the crates as a construction platform.
