  • Just FYI, not a single receiver was ever made in Finland, every rifle is from Tzar's Tula plants :)

Finns made hi-quality barrels for these (otherwise) exellent Mosin-Nagant rifles.

  • 40USD for a genuine M/28 with a Civil Guard Gun and Machineworks barrel that was an actual working rifle used in the Winter and Continuation wars!? that thing is 100 more valuable if not 1000.

  • Well obviously that gun has a quite good FINNISH to the stock! (jesus christ, i inherited my dads bad jokes.... :o)

  • Damn sexy stock

  • auomwlla oli kovat pyssyt

  • 40 bucks. You have made a best deal ever.

  • Good gun? greetings from Finland :)

  • 40 bucks? They are asking 250-500 euros here at the Finnland... Lucky you. :)

  • @juhagard They cost about the same nowadays in the US. I picked one up in a minty M28-30 stock for $300, and my friend got stupidly lucky and found one with all matching numbers and 28-30 sights mismarked as an M39 for $250.

  • Ukko pekka

  • Not a single receiver was ever made in Finland, all Mosin-Nagant rifles were manufactured by Tzar's Tula plants.

Finns (Tikkakoski OY) manufactured extremely high-quality barrels for this rifle, testshooting all of them and those which gave group of 3 shots less than 15mm at 300m were stamped "TTT". Tikkakoski's stamp-T is a little upward bent, almost like an Y.

Double- and single-T Tikkakoski barrells are pretty decent as well, just bit bigger group :)

  • @tunkki321 Actually they were manufactured by Tula, Ishevsk, Sestroryetsk (seen 2 M39s and a 27), New England Westinghouse (seen 2 M39s), Remington (one M28-30), and Chatellerault (a few 28s and a 39). If it was made before 1917, there's a good chance a Finn Mosin got built out of it.

Barrels were also produced by SiG (my M28 has one of those), Gebruder Bohler (one of my M24s, though I'd really love to know which German firm actually made it), and SAKO (Both of my 28-30s)

  • Who is the owner of that rifle...? (carved name) 40bucks for a finnish war rifle... Makes me Sad... (as a Finnish guy)

  • 40$ !!!????

  • @spongerdude7 yep

  • @Sniper1968 Wow! What the hell? :D

  • @Sniper1968 That's like the deal of the century for a fully working M/28 SAKO. The going price for one of these in Finland is 4000 eur minimum. if not 10k for an example like this.

  • do you have any idea were i could buy a bolt for mine

  • have a 1967 m-39, of course no makers mark, they did not want to pay the russians royalties.. most likely sako or vdk. Great shooter, the stripper clips actually work, the safety works easy, could not ask for more. 20k were made in the years 1967 to 72, mine was made on a 1920 tula hex receiver

  • Where did you get that carrying case? It looks like it would double as a shooting pad. I've been after something like that.

  • That looks like one excellent firearm, and you're lucky to have come across it the way you did. I'm sure it's worth many times what it set you back for.

    How is it, in firing?

  • @BubbaLee2 He was amazing but Simo Hayha was better

  • Simo häynä 705 confirmed kills with an m28 (no scope onely ironsights)

  • @heepox Häyhä got 542 kills with a rifle and the rest of the SMG

  • when did you buy it, the m28 was used by the greatest warroir of the 20th century Simo Hayha, i got a m39 on the way but i want to find a m28 sako

  • @WVliberty Back in the eighties.

  • @Sniper1968 Tikka you say? You have 1 rare M28. I just bought a later a SIG m28, the 943rd SIG barreled Mosin to be made at the SIG factory from the first batch, and the rifle was issued to a guardsmen in the Hame district. The bore is pretty dark and has some crud I couldn't scrub out that will come out when firing. I have some of those Lapua remakes of the D166 bullet since the throat was lengthened for a D166. If it slugs out alright I'll shoot cast out of it and kill a pig with it soon!

  • @WVliberty Either that or the 28-30. It's never been completely established which rifle he was truly issued, but whichever one he got, he certainly put the fear of God into the Russians with it.

  • U want to give me it

  • my dad made stocks for the m28

  • @homeruu1lol I'll bet he has some stories of his own to tell about those days.

  • @Sniper1968 he worked for the finnish army for 41 years he started ate age of 16

  • Beautiful..

  • 40 bucks??? In Italy a M28, if you are so lucky to find one, cost more then 600 euros... You are very lucky, both for the rifle and for the price!

  • Simo Hayha got this rifle and he got over 500 sniper kills with it.

  • Only 40 bucks ? I wonder how much this costs in Finland..

  • no its pystykorva

  • i like that gun

  • Kyllä suomalaiset osaa! Nam nam, meillä ihan samanlainen.

  • @Tillentallin Vai pitäisikö sanoa "Kyllä venäläiset osaa!"? Venäläisistä kivääreistä noi on muunneltu. Tukkia vähän pätkitty, tähtäimet vaihdettu ja pesitetty ampumaan paremmin suomalaista patruunaa.

  • man I wish I could get a rifle in a bucket for 40 dollars. I paid 160 dollars for a shitty 91 30 with a bent sight hood

  • Beautiful rifle. I have the M28-30. The model 28 series rifles are the most accurate mosin nagant variations, mostly because of their tight .308 barrel and high quality steel. You can be proud of your rifle. :)

  • @Morrimoo I wish you still could get C&Rs for $40.

  • @Morrimoo .308? it is 7.62*53R

  • @Ravenlord79 Yes, in original 7.62 x 54r

  • @Ravenlord79, Yeah the caliber is 7,62x53R but the barrel is .308... Meaning it will not shoot good or at all with 7,62x54R bullets wich are for original mosin nagants with .311 barrels

  • @Morrimoo Is bolt same? Original case is rimmed, and .308 is diffrent i don´t known right english term, direct translation from finnish is belt socket...

  • @Ravenlord79 Np, thank you for the comment.

  • Where is this rifle sold? I know it's an old design, but, there are still some left, right? Oh, and if a company is producing them again, I need to know. Thanks in advance for your response.

  • @45calibermedic I have not seen any. I got this back in the early eighties.

  • Nice vid and very nice rifle. I have a 1944 VKT manufactured M39. I'd love to get my hands on an M28 or M28/30.

However, the "Mo" in Mosin-Nagant is pronounced "Moh", not "Moy". It's pronounced "Moh-syn Nuh-gahnt", not "moy-sin".

  • if theres name could you tell it i didnt see it in the video...

  • Please watch my finnish m/27 range video and rate :)

  • Yeah I realized afterwards my info was wrong. Although 500+ kills in that time without a scope is outstanding. People need to give the Finns alot of credit...they dud drive away the Soviets. Although I'm sure alot of his kills were never confirmed... Could be more or could be less.

  • @guitar241990 Yeah, thats right. It was impossible to confirme every single kill.

  • thing of real beauty, nice 1

  • Beautiful weapon.

  • nice we got one also

  • Well I'm sure his kills were exaggerated. I give him most credit for only being 5'3 and being on the war for only a short time and of course for using standard iron sights.

  • You said it was very accurate. Simo Hayah's 700+ kills in 100+ days could have told you that.

  • Yes, I did some research on him a while back. There are some videos on youtube of him before he passed on.

  • @guitar241990 I'm finnish. Theres not any Hayah, his name is Häyhä. And he killed 542, not +700, and less than 100 days.

  • @oSaloFIN total count of kills were 700+, accounting the kills with submachine gun

  • im gonna one as a christmas present. costs 390 euros :)

  • the 27 is the best I think. very cheap in finland i own the 39 too and it is utter junk !!

  • Thank you for the comment.

  • oh oh and i forget 28's. all this finnish ones but not the 39s. i do not like 39s. i ment 27s AND 28s are the best i think.. sorry Sniper1968 !! yes yes M28's too XD if you ever have a 39 tell me how it goes.. they are not even feeling like the same handguard XD

  • @jgsuomi How can you possibly call the M39 junk? I just don't understand some people...

  • @huntwithairguns Well to each his own, If you like that is all that counts.

  • nice one 5***** are bolts interchangeable with russian mosin 91/30 as we could seen in film "talvisota-winter war"?

  • The bolts are interchangeable.

  • True but then you possibly encounter head spacing issues.

  • True head space could be an issue.

  • @brunoferrarri

they are interchangeable, russian made bolts are smaller in size - in the "Talvisota"-movie finnish soldier shouts "take the bolt from dead russians rifles, the sand does not bother you so much!"

Sand was all around from artillery bombardment.

  • Wow! I wish my mosins were that nice.

  • what a steal

  • very very nice, whats the tang date?
