  • Good stuff, nice picking!!

  • thanks again :)

  • This is fabulous!! Some of the pseudo critics of this song, or presentation, need to find a job! They seemed better qualified putting wheels on miscarriages, or sniffing f*rts out of car seats. 5*****

  • take the rough with the smooth.. as my mum says.. good laugh and thanks for the stars. cheers M

  • GREAT job!! This is the third vid of yours that I've watched and I'm going to subscribe RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey, don't pay any mind to rude comments. Part of playing guitar or any instrument is enjoying it! I've been playing guitar since Feb. '86 and I am still learning! i will NEVER know it all! It's ok to do it spot on, but sometimes you need to tweak something a bit to make it playable for yourself. I play Blackbird differently than you, but it doesnt make me superior, just different. I enjoyed your version of this timeless song! Keep playing sir!

  • thanks conservative.. your right we should always keep on learning.. enjoy your playing and maybe put a few songs up yourself.. look forward to seeing them .. cheers Mike :)

  • Its supposed to be done in concert tuning mate. Every1 so far I have seen on youtube does it wrong. Watch Paul Mc Cartney do it. Down Tune The op 2 Strings and The Bottom E String.

This gives a G chord on the strings openly strummed. Im 13 and I'm learning it at the moment. Please Find Someone Who Does It Right :(

    3*

  • thanks for that learned ...and miss guided reply.. where I come from.. the art is in making it your own.. oh.. and I'm not you 'mate' ...I choose friends carefully

  • Thanks for those really kind words. I've tried never to loose a sence of wonderment about life. I've just had a reflective few months in NZ and feel refreshed to take on some more songs.. mike

  • OH, that was lovely! Thank you:)

    Hilde

  • Thanks for that Hilde.

  • Loved this version as well. I think your voice has a rather soothing quality to it. Please check out my version of Dust in The Wind. I think you'll like it. I wish I could finger pick like you do. Oh well..some have and some don't, and I just can find the time to try and get it. Peace!

    Firemanoly (Steve Olson)

  • Hi Steve, Thanks for your post.. well I think we all have it.. we are all on the same ladder. I will check out D in the W. I've heard snippets of this song before and it sounds beautiful. Peace returned in abundance. Mike

  • as time goes by i simply love this version more!!! thank you Mike for the time....

  • Good to hear from you again.. I really enjoyed learing this for your birthday .. I'm travelling around NZ at the moment so no posts for a while but trying to learn some new songs.. m

  • Blackbird is my favorite Beatles song of all time, even more than imagine. You did it proud! Your voice is lovely, and you chose to patter the higher notes so as not to strain it. Awesome!

  • wow.......

  • J'aime bien votre version de cette chanson fantastique.

    Merci.

  • Mike, you did fine! This has always been one of my favorites, and you more than did it justice!

  • I play a quite a few allman bros., srv, beatles, what of these types can you play for us? I love to listen to your versions...the character of your voice, and your playing style is so inviting.

  • Always happy to research new material.. do you have any songs in mind?? Cheers M:)

  • Are you familiar with Little Martha by Dickie Betts of the Allman Bros? It's an instrumental, but I bet you could put lyrics to it that would do justice to the tune.

  • I'm away from home at the moment but I'll look it up and see what I can do. Txs M:)

  • This is one of my favorites...one of the few I will play and sing for my friends. Great version. Thanks.

  • I'd like to hear your version...do you record songs? M:)

  • I love your versions. Mine embarrass me.

  • Thats not the point. Be who you are. I love listening to anyone. Playing music is food for the soul. Very kind wishes M:)

  • Thanks for the kind thoughts. But my music leaves my soul hungry. Technically, I'm quite proficient. Spiritually, I'm nowhere. I can't do what you do, and I'm ok with that.

  • Upload some of your songs..it might be fun and thats more than enough. Take care and thanks for writing. M:)

  • beautiful, with a lot of emotion, it's a pleasure see you playing, like always

  • Very personal and so beautiful cover! I like your picking and you sound really GOOD!!!

  • Thanks Eric.

  • Mike, nice version. You made it your own. God Bless.

  • Many thanks again. M:)

  • Well played, Mike. Sounds very good.
