  • This is simply unbelievable. Your fingers smoothly gliding/floating on Banjo keys like waves – can’t believe my eyes!!

This is the first musical instrument I ever touched (at my cousin’s home when I moved Lahore from Rahimyarkhan after admission in Govt. College) – I could barely align my fingers. I never saw someone so accurately rendering without stumbling – so confidently – for so long! It is simply Amazing. You have really made me very happy. May Allah bless you for this, Sir!

  • @fakherhalim I am glad to see your comment which reflects your deep interest in music. Wish you good luck. Please remain in touch.

  • You are a versatile artist. I admire your art specially Banjo.

  • @StringsLover1 Thank you.

  • Your strings are scattering the petals of roses!

  • @wow4411 I thank you for the beauty of your imagination.

  • This is an excellent performance. I enjoyed this very much. My father is from Thailand, and I enjoy Thai classical music like Jakhay music. I'm very aware of the close historical ties Thailand has had with India. The strumming patterns of the Bubul Tarang are remarkably similar to the Thai Jakhay. You sir have created an outstanding video with outstanding musicianship. Thank you for your hard work.

  • @theboomster Your comment is unique and very special to me. I am glad to be introduced to you. Thanks for your interest.

  • Very nice piece. I uploaded a small benjo piece played by my friend with me (on rythm). Check my video response.

  • @intezam I found it a brilliant piece of music. Thanks a lot.

  • very true sir . it's really amazing performance by you .i meant that you are really very good . it's very difficult to match with tracks . sorry for that .

sir please tell me who is Best Banjo Player in the You Tube ? thanks .

  • @StringsLover1 I love banjo playing myself and I like everybody playing banjo on You Tube. Thanks for your response. Best wishes.

  • SIR YOU ARE PLYING WITH TRACK SO IT'S NOT A ART . MR RANA ILYAS IS MUCH BETTER THAN YOU . COZ HE PLAYS ONLY BANJO .

  • @StringsLover1 Mr. Rana Ilyas is a very good banjo player. You seem to have interest in string instruments. A person like you should learn to play banjo or some other instrument. Then you will be able to understand the complexities and intricacies of playing banjo with rhythm, tabla, track or accompaniment. You will also know about difficulties of matching tempo, pitch and scales while playing with a track and how to go about for audio/video mixing/matching/merger or synchronization. Thanks.

  • O nice performance. I like it. I Have A Banjo Set. I try to play this song. I want to learn as like you. Pray For Me..

  • @MadhobChandra My best wishes are for you. Thanks.

  • Very well played and recorded , its worth listening I started my music carrier with it in the year 1965 I bought it for Rs.12/- from karachi it was for beginners with numbers on its Keys. IMTIAZ FARUQUI. USA.

  • @imtiazf10 Thanks Imtiaz.

  • Qasim bhai, breathtaking, mindblowing and similar superlatives start dancing in my mind when i come across a masterpiece reincarnation like this one. at times it becomes difficult 2 decide which way to go to listen to the original song or ur effort . i by no means intend to undermine the original item but there's a certain thrill seeing u play this otherwise lifeless gadget which springs to life with the touch of ur crafty fingers i m priveleged to have seen u play live thnx indeed

  • @munfaridh It is a happy event to see the comment from a keen, serious and knowledgeable listener like you whose spirit is soaked in music. I have seen counted few people of that caliber who understand the depth and intricacies of music to the extent you can. Thanks my friend.

    Regards.

  • Mr.Salman Ali Shah aged 24 years, my computer assistant holding a master's degree in IT is the young man behind this creative work. He is a person with excellent habits and amazing character. The clear cut recording, mixing, editing etc., whatever, you are appreciating go to his credit. He does his work quickly and nicely using no special equipment. He has an exceptional talent and interest in his work. I am pleased to acknowledge his contribution through this comment. Thanks for pointing out.

  • A totally enjoyable nostalgic masterpiece skillfully recrafted without leaving the original track.. and the movie dance clip makes it complete....thx for this item,Prof Zaidi

  • It is a short but all round comment. Leaving apart the appreciation for which I am sincerely obliged, I wonder how you could cover so many aspects with such a brief comment. That is a great art in itself. Thank you.

  • words are just words!!.....you are the real artist here:)

  • Thanks

  • I must say you are playing well. I had this intense longing to play "any" instrument while studying. That may have something to do with a class mate who was a such a draw among ladies in our university days. I miserably failed. I did not know what beats were, being a mathematician of all disciplines. I am impressed. 5 stars.

  • The nostalgic stories of the bygone days!

    Thanks for the interest.

    Regards.

  • Beautiful Upload , Very Entertaining . !!!!!!!

  • Thanks.

  • Thank you Qasim ji for sharing. Pardon my delay in response. Simply Beautiful.

  • Professor, fantastic job again. I enjoyed thoroughly your rendition of song from Nagin.

  • Thanks asubby.

  • Thanks Bharat ji.

  • You are a master of your instruments Prof sahab.very well played sir, it is ultimate.

  • Thank you, Sharma ji. I hope you are doing fine.

  • Prof, I must say you've played this very well, Sir. What a performance. I play Taishokoto (not quite what you're playing). I've tried to get the sound like you but to no luck. How is your instrument tuned? I can see you have 2 melody strings compared to 3 on mine set to G4.

Thank you for sharing sundar music.

  • Whether there are two stings or three is not important. Two strings will give you a sharper sound but three will give a richer sound. Again, whether you set the strings at G4 or wherever but there should be a perfect matching between them. Some people use auto tuners for this purpose, which is an instrumental device, but if you have an ear which is sharp enough, you do not need that device.

I wish you success in your endeavor.

  • Aapnay tou duniya ki diwarain JORR di hain, sir.

mun (dil) khush ho giya sunkar aur dekhkar. THANKS.

  • Thanks.

  • The passion behind your comment shows your genuine love for music. I must congratulate you for this gift, which you own. Thanks.

  • Thank you very much, Sir for your kind and very generous words ! I was absolutely stunned when I heard it for the first time ! I simply love good music and whenever possible I try and put my feelings in words ! I've a passion for old hindi songs, especially of late Fifties, Sixties & Seventies !

I feel honoured & very much humbled by your kind gesture of becoming my friends. Thank you very much, Sir. I'm looking forward to enjoying your music in coming days & weeks.

May God Bless You, Sir !

  • A friend of mine used to play the Bonni and Clyde theme music beautifully on this instrument when we were both in Harvard graduate school 40 years ago. Other than hearing the banjo as part of an orchestra in old movie songs, this is the first time since then for me to listen to a full-fledged live performance. The accolades showered on you by the impromptu YT mehfil are all well deserved , Qasim Bhai. While playing, you seemed to be in a trance. Now we are all in that trance. That's magic.

  • Banjo, though not very common now, marks the original traditional class of musical instruments. Sometimes it works so beautifully that no instrument can replace it. The art of playing such instruments in remote, far flung, rural, hilly areas or deserts with country songs has its own charm. Such instruments must be preserved and saved from extinction. Thanks Vipan Bhai, for your participation on this page.

  • Indeed, in America it 's mostly in folk and country music that you see the use of banjo. Nashville,Tenn., is the music capital of that genre. I hope the banjo will continue to live as long as that genre of music continues.

  • It is always pleasing to see the colors added by Mago ji's interesting pieces of information.

I remember innumerable, inspiring pieces of Banjo, appearing in songs of Shankar Jaikshen and other music directors. Though I made this attempt of playing this song, in a bit of hurry, I feel happy and humbled by the number of comments made by friends. Thanks Mago ji.

  • What an AMAZING performance Prof Sahab !
