    Bodyweight workouts are a great complement to regular weight training workouts. But you still need good old fashion weight training for maximum muscle growth.

    Squatting on the toes is the way the squat was originally done back in the old days of bodybuilding. In fact they didn't even call it a squat, they called it a Deep Knee Bend. Flat foot squatting came along long after that. Bottom line, just try it out and see how it feels. I personally find doing body weight squats on the toes isolates the quads better then flat foot squats.

  • You should do a video on pistol squats, practice, techniques and proper form. If YOu haven't done them in a while you know they will be difficult. I think it baffling that I can squat fairly good with a few hundred pounds at least but I can not do one lousy pistol squat to save my life....LOL!

  • Lee have you ever done any pistol squats? Suoer hard to do. no weight required.

    Yeah, they are an awesome bodyweight leg exercise that you could do as well.

  • Just want to say thanks Lee, I can't get to the gym for 2 weeks and was desperate not to stop training. Deciding legs was probably the easier to work with just bodyweight and improvisation in my garden, I came across this while researching how to hit them hard.

    Did 5 sets of the circuit, 2 mins rest between the circuits, no rest between exercises.

    And It was brutal my friend. So thanks a lot :)

  • Idk if i could do the fly metric jumps im too tall i barely have to jump to hit the rim. might just jump in the air like an idiot lol

  • this is some good stuff. i train bb squats, but there've been times when i couldn't get to the gym and i did bw exercises at home. it's ridiculous the burn you can get from lunges or bw squats; it can actually be more intense than bb squats depending on your reps/sets.

  • When I finally was able to max out on my home free weights for calves I was so depressed. Then my sister who takes ballet, said try "releves." I said okay then went into my room and laughed my ass off for 5 minutes straight. But I was so desperate I tired it and now after 4 days I can still barley walk from the soreness. Duh, I've used push ups to stimulate DOMS and peck growth so I should've known better. A releve is just a calf raise. Low-weight high-reps can be a God send in bodybuilding.

  • Lee i'v been trying to get you to answer my question for a while so sorry but this will be posted on lots of your vids :)....I'm doing the 12 week routine outlined in the blast your bench. Can I do lots of cardio afterwards like an hour or should i turn the 5 minute warm up into an hour of cardio...or even do 30 before and 45 minutes after the workout?????

    We're just basically going set for set. I never really timed the rest periods. We are NOT training to failure. Lunge a lap of the court, sets of 10 for all the jumps, and sets of 25 for the squats and calve raises. Repeat for 3-5 circuits depending on how you feel.

    It's an awesome exercise and you could do these in place of the hindu squats if you like.

  • the second guy sucks at these jump exercises. He doesn't land in an athletic position and absorb the impact. Probably be better to have good technique.

  • I can lift more weight on tipy toe squat where your hills come off the flore when you lift the weight back up, then keeping my hills on the flore

    I'm just squinting because it was sunny out and I didn't have my sun glasses. As for why we were in Cuba... Well it was to eat, drink, & party of course :-)

  • we do lots of plyometric training in my MMA training lots of kettlebells cross fit and olympic lifting and tire flips sled pulls lots of bear crawls and lots of grip strength work but this seems to be a good leg workout good for explosive strength

  • most sore ive ever been after a leg workout was a plyometric one i did in the park
