I was with VQ-1 in Atsugi Japan from May 1970 to November 1971. The squadron was moved to Guam during the summer of 1971 and combined with a weather squadron. We flew out of Danang when on detachment. Lots of good memories.
EP-3.....I was an AT on that bird ('99-'01). I can say I surely don't miss crawling around the belly of that thing. I used to take naps in the M&M though...lol...great hiding spot.
AT2 Moore (Justin)...hows it goin man?? I think remember you. I was down in Puerto Rico when PR-?? went down in China. I knew half of those guys pretty well. Pissed me off actually...I spent countless man hours in Misawa, Japan fixing that same bird just to have it all dismantled. Always great to hear from an old shipmate though man!
My dad was in VQ-1 from about 73-76, left right after Pamela hit. He was with the "Whales". I miss Barney...Loved to see that guy.

Video says VQ-1, but ppl are wearing VQ-2 patches. I was in VQ-1 74-77, VQ-2 78-81.
