Looking at some screen shots of the game, it shows what the Spartans originally looked like fighting Roman legionaries. I find that strange since when Rome invaded the Greek city-states, the Spartans have lost their classic look and should not look like that in the game

@Malusregnum Alexander was himshelf Greek so the proper answer is that Southern Greeks didn't like him...Thessalians and Epirotans subjugated to his might but not the city states of the south..This is a form of civil war and has nothing to do with ethnicities...Greeks also served in Persian Army when Xerxes invaded Greece does this mean that Ionians aren't Greeks?? Read History Greeks consider their city as their country Alexander had a vision of uniting Greece and he made it not for long though

Even after he conquered the Persians he still let them have there own culture and religion, he even married a Persian woman named Roxane and made her his queen. Thats respect right there.

I'm sure the babylonians weren't too happy about Alexander, yet I can imagine in several hundred - a thousand years, Hitler will be idolized for being quite the conquering genius, despite his moralistic values and beliefs. THATS THE TRUTH:Alexander the great born in Pella of Macedonia ( that is the official name of a region in Greece). His Father Fillip the second conquered the peoples that Greeks called the "Barbarians of the North" (today's FYROM,Albania e.t.c.) and called this land "Macedonia". Then he took over what is left of Greece and started making of a new country uniting the Greeks.
So the original Macedonia is Greek the others are just crap.

Alexander the Great was born in Northern Greece in the region known as Macedonia. There is also a Republic of Macedonia north of Greece and is it's own country. The people from the Republic of Macedonia are Slavic not Greek. The Northern Greek Macedonians have no relation to the people from the Republic of Macedonian.

Oh dear, people actually are quite silly here. Alexander was born in Pella, the capital of ancient Macedonia, or Ma'k'edonia. This was back when the modern day area was split into several kingdoms: Macedonia, Sparta, Athens, Mycenae, Rhodes, Thrace, Caria, etc. However, the ethnicity of them all, although not referred by themselves, was "Greek", you could say. Alexander and his father Philip through politics and conquest unified the states, creating the first nation of Greece.
