This is pretty amazing....I cant imagine how much time and money it took to take a heavy old Z31 like this one and turn it into a beast. I use to own an 87 non turbo and it was my first car. I loved it. Since then I have messed with an 86 turbo (left it stock) a 91 non turbo and Still have a 06 Z33. Now I want an early 240 to work on and 370. Long live the Z!! But its a shame that my everyday driver is a 09 Camry....lol oh well, gas i high, what can I say....lol
@elijahinky Z31s aren't heavy...its lighter than your NA Z32, and WAAAAAY lighter than your Z33. They're around 3000lbs fully loaded 86-89, but can easily be gotten down to 2500-2600lbs.

Beautiful :) i had a 84 300zx for awhile :) they are the most beatiful car (apart from supras) they are the best for a nice hot summers day cruise coz u take the targa top off and u can drive down the road with the wind in your face :D its FUCKING AWESOME and btw the z31 stock can wipe out what ever you put next to it apart from a v8 or small turbo'd 6cyl i should no i was taking out skylines in my stock z31 :) all it had was a heavy duty clutch :D i love my driving XD

@nytodie the 300zx has ALOT MORE potential then the s2k TRUST ME the first car I ever drove was an s2000 the car is lovely and handles like a dream factory to factory an s2k will crush a 300zx but z31s or z32's can be made into MONSTERS by just spendin the cost of an s2000! lol these engines are much more reliable and they come turbo (most of them) they handle boost very well! I have a z31 btw

There is a black connector under the driver side kick pannel(above your knees while sitting in it) it takes 5 mins take the 4 screws out of the panel (dont forget the one above the steering wheel adjustment lever) there will be a black connector on the right side of the steering column just unplug that and your good to go. Done on my 86 N/a
if he bothered to show track time i wonder why it doesnt show any dyno numbers? ive never heard of a 9 sec car running factory trans and rearend...lol especially not one that came with less than 300hp stock

Most of the domestics you listed require a built version of their parts at some point. Unless you just meant factory parts and not factory "stock" parts. Not many cars are like the supra where you can go 7's on the factory lsd and transmission.

I do spend time at the track. Mustangs transmissions stink and need to be built to handle 9 second power, camaros have weak rear ends that won't last long when you get your set up in a car to hook. the 4l60e trans and t56's need to be opened up and strengthened to handle 9 second power for any length of time. Do I need to keep going? I hang around speed shops quite a bit, got one of the best LSX shops in the country right here in town.

Oh wow it's rated to 600ftlbs. So it handles a stock viper. So what? Supra's have gone 7's on a BONE stock factory trans. Generally when you see a twin turbo viper, or a turboed LSX car it's had the trans touched. 600ftlbs is definitely more then what most people would put through a t56, but for the heavy hitters no. The fastest 6-speed lsx fbody has a built faceplatted t56 in it bro.
And for reference on the supra bit, bone stock trans has taken 1700hp and 1400ftlbs without being touched outside of a clutch. Lamborghini gallardo manuals bone stock without even changing the clutch have taken over 1000ftlbs. So I'm sorry but a stock t56 taking 600ftlbs is not bullet proof my friend. Sounds to me like you are the one that needs to do more research and spend time at the track watching actual fast cars.
And one more thing. The 8 second vipers may have a t56 in them, but they are not factory stock. If it's rated to 600ftlbs and the vipers that generally are running 8's make double that, it's not going to last long, don't ya think?

And all 4 of the t56 vipers that run 8's or better (one in the 7's) they make more then DOUBLE the amount of torque a bone stock t56 was designed to take. So while you can line it up with the stocker if you would like, it's not going to last long, hence it's not bullet proof, and needs to be built.
cars i drive? 370z nismo, 72 240z with a rebello 3.2 racing engine, 78 280z with a ls2, 78 280z with a built l28et, built z31getting a t56, another z31 that is stock. bmw 528e e28 with a 3.3 out of a 535i e28 engine, 86 bronco with a boss 302 supercharged. some of them are just my race cars from sponsers, some are my personal cars. Cars i have owned, 98 WS6 transam pushing 720 at the wheels, shelby rampage, 05 SS cobalt running 11's, man this could go on for days, part of being raised at drags!
I'm not trying to take anything away from the work that 1Sickz has done to his Z, BUT, I do think the video is altered. Guys, just take out a stop watch and time it yourself. the closest I got after a few try's is 10.32. Now I know it's not accurate but wouldn't you think I should be close to 9.3 +/-0.4sec (my reaction time to the video) and not almost 1 sec difference!

To take off like that, you would have to make up a LOT in the top end. Like more than 143 in the top end, that is for damn sure. All the 9.3 or 9.4 guys are pretty much ripping the front end off the ground and only running 143 144mph. Call me a hater, just got no time for fakes though.
The numbers mean how much air there is compared to fuel. You get them wtih an air/fuel meter. I think they piggyback into oxygen sensors, but don't quote me on that...

+1 That is doctored. Sorry Mike, But I'm still not buying it man. At very best that is a low 10 second car. Nobody ever saw a time slip either. To take off like that, you would have to make up a LOT in the top end. Like more than 143 in the top end, that is for damn sure. All the 9.3 or 9.4 guys are pretty much ripping the front end off the ground and only running 143 144mph. Call me a hater, just got no time for fakes though.

The numbers mean how much air there is compared to fuel. You get them wtih an air/fuel meter. I think they piggyback into oxygen sensors, but don't quote me on that...

Nice car, but I believe it's an 86, not an 84. I know this because of the flaired fenders and rear tailights. Also because it's my favorite z31.

It's got an 87-89 front end and 86 lights. Doesn't necessarily mean the rear end is an 86, ive seen some 87s with the 86 taillight mod.

there was no slicktop made in 1986. They only made them in 1984 and they were quite rare.

WOW, so much running of the mouth here!!! All I have to say is mike,you have 1SICKZ!! I love it! THE NICEST AND MEANEST Z31 i've seen yet! Obviously you love z31's and the vg30et so here's a link to My car. It an 87 RX-7 With a vg30e"tt" swap. Two big ol' holset hx-35's;) Still in tuning stage right now but thought you, and any other VG man, might like to check it out!

Actually, I believe that would make Rolo the hater, as Thomas was just relaying a message. I'm not saying it does or doesn't have the stock driveline. I think its way impressive even if it is built all to hell.

His is an '86 too, its a typo on behalf of the maker of the video I'm sure. No way it isnt, unless they either swapped the tail lights, or quarter panels...front end is clearly 87-89, however the tail lights with those quarterpanels scream '86 only...and ive seen pictures of the car /w the '86 nose...
