It is totally possible to be friends with the opposite sex. I think it is jealousy for people who say different. I think you should be friends with whoever you want to be friends with and spend time with them regardless of if they're male or female.

I think and know it's possible to have a male friend without anything else happening, I have a couple of good male friends, one who I am very close with and there's nothing else going on, so agree with Jane. :)
