I have a D600 too,bought it in august 09. It runs like a lamborghini. It use to be so slow so i went into it's system menu and turned on it's disc cleaner. I also have PC TOOLS PRIVACY GUARDIAN INSTALLED. I have it set to automatically clean my disc whenever i turn on my laptop. Nice video.

i recomend you to use speedupmypc, registry booster, and tune up utilities

but when i play need for speed at my laptop it crash coz the game is not install i just copy and paste the NFS

now my latitude d600 is slow now i think i will reformat it

my one is now about 6 years old and it coming apart .often it overheats and the lid hinges are coming off the whole chassy has no stability in it, it like wiggles like a ruler (measurement tool) and the plastic is also cracking and falling off

If you have the Windows XP disk, totally wipe the hard drive and reinstall everything. That is what I have done (was having the same problems you describe and its working just as fast as the optiplex I am currently on.

Hi Anum, Im not a tecnitian or anything but I think these laptops give trouble with that, and a lot. I own one and I had the same problem but because I was running it on Electric Power, I came to the conclusion that the battery was the problem, after it was replaced the software Ident it  like it suppossed to and I can use it a couple more minutes than before haha. I think is worth the money to upgrade to 2Gb Ram.

i do think its a bit slow on startup but i have also heard windos XP is junk i have a hewlett packard windows XP and it starts up fast and its a good computer but your computer is a little older than so thats probaly why it starts up sort of slow my computer was a year old in feb 2009

I've had this computer for quite some time, it has always worked well, but around 2 months ago the physical computer started falling apart.

For a long time, the power chord does not seem to stay in, it flickers and dies.

One day i found one side of the computer,

where the screen connects to the rest of the computer, was cracked.

A few weeks later I tried closing my computer and the other side snapped and can't be closed now.

It depends on if the system had the bluetooth chip installed. I had a Dell from the same time period (Inspiron) with the option for bluetooth, and the icon for it, however the actual chip that is needed wasn't inside because it wasn't included in that particular configuration. It all depends on how you ordered it from Dell/ if you upgraded it.

I have this computer at home, you can speed up the boot by just going into your system settings. Mine only shows the win XP screen for around 7 sec

Click on the Volume icon in the lower right hand corner, Click Options, properties, Then click the Recording radio button. Make sure that Microphone is selected. Click OK. Turn the Mic volume up until you can hear it clear.

No bluetooth and I don't believe ANY dell lad 600s have wifi, you have to buy the card. I do know that Dell Laditute D610s ( a step up from the 600) have internal wireless but don't no about bluetooth
