I will be 60 in October and that means I graduated in 1969 when this album was released. We heard all kinds of rumors of ppl in Eng. passing out from fear, etc. I saw pink floyd in 1971 or 72. I decided to go straight. I got high on the music. It was the Dark Side tour...i told my boyfriend that I thought an ambulance should be called...i was dying..lol concert over...everyone got up quietly and just walked out like robots...AWESOME CONCERT....HAHAHAH

The piano in this piece is pretty awesome, and then quickly deteriorates into the organized chaos that Pink Floyd is fantastic at balancing. The dissonance really creates the ummagumma atmosphere.

All I know is I ate the 'shrooms, listened to 'Ummagaumma', and discovered they canceled each other out. That's the beauty of Floyd - they're their own sonic drug. If that makes sense. Which it would when you're high, but while Floyd's playing it doesn't. Damn - that made so much more sense to me before I read it.
