Just imagine the C64 without Rob Hubbard... boring just thinking about it. Who writes the music to modern games? Haven't got a clue! Played WoW since 2004, no idea who writes the music, could be Jeremy Clarkson for all I know. But everyone knows Rob Hubbard.
The sounds in this tune are a reminder of why the Commodore 64 is still the cleverest micro computer ever made. Is it any wonder people STILL write programs for it nearly thirty years on?
thumbs up to the music but i don't want to go back to the days of this kind of game - if you pick the wrong random items at the start it becomes impossible to complete - hardly fair.
@alanlovedog That's because back then computers had such little power that things like this had to be included to give the game longevity, otherwise it would be completed too quickly. That's why you also only got a few lives, usually 3. Fast forward a bit and you have much longer games like Oddworld so you get infinite lives. And in Oddworld 2, they added a Quick Save too!
Don't let the quirks of the old days dominate your judgement, it's the old games that led to modern ones.
I totally agree. somehow these old games has their charm. remember those cold rainy dark days.. figure out how to do this and that... this game has my memory 4 ever !
I wish they still made games like this... Screw the cinematics, complex characters and 3D worlds, just give me a world made of 8x8 2 colour platforms, walls and hazards, trippy but dumb enemies and a roaring chiptune!
WHO THE FUCK DISLIKED

the c64 had a great sound chip, although I prefer my amstrad/spectrum version.
