i have the toshiba and its great, if you are into photographty and use sd cards you can put them st8 onto the toshiba and feels more rugged to take it outside without feeling it will break, apple is fine for home use and apps that you will never use and feels very fragile and not rugged for day to day use and your stuck with the apple way off doing thing which makes you stuck to your home computer which is a load of crap

first : camera is not important for a tablet as it is not comfortable for capturing photos so i do not care for the good camera in the thrive

second : app store is way better than andriod market and this shit app place

third : ios 5 is betterthen andriod more million times

fourth : the thrive is very thick and very haevy and that is shit as you want to make the tablet portable and also the thrive hasless battery life

conclusion : ipad 2 is the best tablet out there and it better than thrive!

So the iPad doesn't have flash. Honestly, more and more sites are using html5 anyway. And a lot of stupid ads use flash. So the thrive is taking longer to load because of ads that I don't care to look at anyway. And as far as that swipe typing. That stuff is actually pretty cool... For phones. That seems like a pain and useless for a full sized tablet.

Thrive > iPad 2. Why? The Thrive provides more ports (i.e. USB, SD card) especially with the removable battery. Unlike iPad, a useless piece of crap...except for the fancy apps.

Nice review. to add: the thrive supports upto 128gb not 32gb, it supports sdxc,which I guess no other tablet does. infact iteven accepts external hard disk,mouse,keyboard and game cobtrollers via usb. Thicknesswise: it feels solid and easier to hold due to the rubberized back and needs practically no case unless travelling as backcover is 20$ ..cheaper than any good case.I feel the areas to improve are are: no 3g,volume and power button could be easier, and its difficult to remove back cover

I am an android man all the way, BUT.....ipad has one thing that all the android tabs dont have and that is RELIABILITY!!! I've had all the android tabs now and have had to return them all after 2 weeks. I had an ipad 1 for 8 months and used it 8 plus hours a day and never had an issue. Android i love you, but for now i gotta go with ipad 2. Toshiba would kill ipad if it wasnt for that not waking up from sleep issue and restarting itself.

You don't need to use the home button in iOS 5. There are multitasking gestures! :D four finger swipe up to revile the multitasking bar, 5 finger pinch to exit app, and four finger swipe left or right to switch through open apps.
