No offense kid, but the real way prisoners make prison shanks out of a toothbrush is by sharpening it either on the ground or on their cell wall. They file it down like a spear until it has a sharp tip. I made a toothbrush shank myself by fileing it down on concrete. It's fairly sharp too. You can't have a boxcutter in prison, but if you could however, it would be a smart idea to make a toothbrush shank because boxcutters can be detected by metal detectors, toothbrush shanks can't.
