@EkizochikkuDorimu Daishi powder you can get at any asian market. But I highly recommend making is from its raw ingredients. It's very easy, to see it done watch Cooking with Dog. They make a few varieties. As for sake substitue...not really one that I can think of. You can leave out though and still have an awsome dish.
@amerein2006 A good sake substitute is a dry sherry. But most large supermarkets now will probably sell a sake. In the UK the big Tesco or Sainsbury's almost always have it.
Made this today and my boyfriend said I didn't make enough cause it's too good. I also made some sesame sauce and it goes great with nabe. Best nabe recipe ever! =D
I love Japanese food but dashi stock in America particular dashi powder or the Fish flakes to make dashi stock is SO expensive. 18$ for a 1 1/2lb box is ridiculous.
Konnichiwa, what is "Shungiku"? I have never heard of that before. Can you let me know? Doumo Arigatou Gazaimuse (sorry, my Japanese is bad, I'm still learning:))
also people the cup size doesnt really matter much, its all about ratios. often when I make something for very hungry people I just use a larger cup. :)
@runnyrunny999 no not really! I love your videos than CWD. Seems like your videos are much more easier yet still yummy than CWD. Pls. believe me when I say your better than CWD. you make me smile eve you don't have dogs! LOL
I've tried all of those mushrooms and they are so tasty. Dashi stock is a magical concoction - you put anything in it and instantly tastes warm and delicious.
And I agree with everyone that your english is great - much better than my Japanese :)
When I get into my apartment and start living on my own, I'm going to try making all of these! Well, as many as I can. They seem really easy to make, delicious, and not too expensive if you shop at the correct stores.
that look tasty yum~~ about few months ago i didnt know about nabe untill i show my japanese friends my chinese soup which is similar to nabe. they thought it was nabe except for the soup base, i boiled with dried fish. i gonna try your recipe when my mom is home this weekend!
I like your videos because believe or not out of all the Japanese cooking videos on Youtube, your videos make Japanese cooking very accessible. :) Arigato!
