i hate the tv series, sequal and prequal. The original story was quite well seen in the movie and though the ending was happier i am sure that anderson and disney would have been happy to have that adaption but these alterations actually make no content to show that she loved the land and wished to go there. its like when she turned 17 she was like... oh SHIT that shore is awesome im going to pretend that its my life dream to go up there!

@watermelon668 I 100% agree. Since the original was based on a book, that's why it was good. The writers then added their own fiction to the story.

@watermelon668 She was 16 years old in the movie ;) In the original story she only got really interested in things on land when her sisters started to get old enough to go above shore on their birthday's (being the youngest she had to wait longer, and hear about what they saw). And they could only go up once! So I think the Disney movie gave her more of an interest than the original character had, not that I'm complaining, I like the movie alot. So she didn't grow up dreaming of the shore :p

@tsadyan00 nah she's just a brat that is so selfish blows off her birthday party, embarrasses her family, she runs away from home, almost ruins her kingdom, nearly kills her father, nearly kills herself, (and if you look at the series, does so repetitively) all because she wants more stuff. All at the so wise and mature age of 16. oh and in the end has to be saved by her father and her prince.
