Here's the solution for women who are harassed by these useless men. There's a very, very hot pepper called 'bhut jolokia'. It's the world's hottest pepper. Take several of them, crush them into tiny pieces, fill it up with water in a plastic spray container, then shake it. If one of those trash come over to grab you, spray it directly into their eyes and then run. They'll be screaming bloody Mary and fall on their face, crying like a wuss that they are. It'll take a while for them to recover.

The problem is that the prices of everything went so high that marriage is very expensive , a lot of the harrasing men aren't properly educated , Islam has very serious "laws" againest rape and harrasement but they aren't applied in most countrys. having just returned as tourist from egypt , i experienced this . i dressed modestly , covered my head and still it happened . sadly the only solution i had was to threaten the men concerned , which i am not proud of , but i felt forced to do and on one occasion , i made a real fuss about it and the man concerned did not like the attention he got . its sad that this is going on and it puts me off returning to a country which has a rich culture .

I finally got out of Egypt after being there for 18 years.. i'll probably end up going back someday.. but as for now, it is SO good to be able to walk around in the streets without having to check that no one is following me, shouting out nasty words or trying to touch me. this is SUCH a huge issue in Cairo (and I'm sure in many other places) but honestly.. (no intention of being pessimistic) I don't think that this problem will go away any time soon. In fact, I'm thinking it'll get a lot worse.

Sexual harrassement is a problem in most countries, but i believe in these so called  "conservative" countries it is much more blatent. Some men see women as purely sexual objects to be used. If it were more acceptable for both sexes to intergrate and socalise together it would definatley help the situation.

There was a huge harassment of women in PUBLIC in a VERY CROWDED place in cairo and hundreds, I mean HUNDREDS harrassed women right there and then. I seriously doubt that the women in those countries are less sexually repressed than the men. More so in fact. The problem is that in male-dominated conservative cultures, there are rampant double standards and much less accountability for the actions of men compared to women.

I find it strange how there are always excuses for the actions of men due to sexual frustration as if the women in those countries aren't sexually repressed at rates far greater than the men are.

One of the problems here is the fact that in many conservative cultures,the men are repressed sexually by not having an outlet of release to their sexual desires. Masturbation and porno films DO NOT equate to the experience of being with a real woman. Many Egytian men cannot have access to female affection until they're married,which in a poor country.....is very expensive. Sex outside of marriage is harder to get,henceforth we have high incidences of sexual harassment by sexually frustrated men
