That's very cute, wish my bird would do that. He's tame but he's an asshole, if I pushed a ball towards him he'd give me the stink eye and piss off to prune his feathers. Bloody drama queen.
My parents have a cockatiel called cookie who tries to do the same with an orange and a melon. Its really funny to watch because they have a wooden floor where would keep slipping for a while before he would eventually move the orange. (^_^ )
Avoid fast movements and noise and other disturbances in the vicinity of the bird. Always approach slowly. Try to win his confidence by sitting beside his cage and observe his behavior and talk calmly to him.
And the cage shouldn't be too small, so he can jump around and unfold his wings when cleaning. When you won the heart of such a little fella he can be pretty affectionate. :)
Yeah. his cage is pretty big. And he loves me so much. LOL. He always flies up to my room on the weekends when my dad lets him loose, and cuttles up to me.
