no, actually the iphone is alot better. the blackberry storm was a HUGE disappointment. i got it thinking it would be so cool... the touchscreen absolutely SUCKS. why is there a full second of LAG???? the iphone doesn't have that! and to add to that the storm cant do HALF the things the ipone can. go get an ipone yourself then you'll see.

8.5mp? Did you just pull that out of your ass? The iPhone is 2.0 and don't count on it getting any larger unless they add auto focus which... Wow!! The Storm just so happens to have with it's 3.2mp camera (which is rather good for a PHONE), flash and it can do video.

I'm determining my next purchase in the next few months and have used one of these. This is NOT a REALLY bad phone and along with the iPhone, one of the best touchscreen phones.

The phone isnt hard to use its easy after a couple days you can text fast and its slow only if you leave the app u were just on open you have to press the blackberry key and press close to actually close it or it runs in the backround

that sucks... the phone for me with a 2-year contract was $100 off he original price of $246 but once you add in the $30 for the internet and the other small fees that may be necessary I spent about that of the original price. It's a really good phone though, I'm enjoying it, I'm still learning how to use it and how to set things up on it. Typing will be something to learn from:-)

A few things you did not disclose, you mention there is GPS is this an integrated GPS hardware or an internet based GPS. Second, what kind of Operating System is the storm using? it looks like some sort of new OS and if so what kind of programs is compatible to the desktop. you Mention WiFi, this one could be valuable, how can Verizon allow WiFi if they are trying to promote their internet do they charge for Wifi data?

ive got the blackberry curve and i think it would be better than the storm, because my friends got the lg glimmer which has a touch screen to navigate with and you have to press really hard to get it to respond. so if the touch screen on the storm is like that i wouldnt buy it.

Armandot06, do you actually HAVE a storm. Joukahola, I do agree about the WiFi, but Verizon compensates with the FASTEST 3G network. That's right guys, thats probably one of the reasons WiFi isn't in the Storm, since 3G came out, Rim felt that since Verizon has the FASTEST network, WiFi was unnecessary. The WiFi was cut out because RIM wanted to have a reliable customer who had enough money (I'm just guessing, but it seems pretty logical). If you want to get the best of this phone....

It is but it won't be called the storm... It's going to be another 4-6 months before it actually happens. I work for the company.  They're also trying to put some space between releasing the Touch Pro, Diamond, Palm Pro, etc and give the engineers time to work out some of the storm issues.

it has a nice screen and fast softwae but i wouldn't consider it a touch screen phone. It's more of a proximity button. I know your thinking it's the same thing but you have to push down the screen like a button or it wont register your touch. it will show you where your finger is and it picks up on it right away but then you have to push the screen in. if your a fast typer this phone will slow you down. but thats just my opinion. i still love blackberrys. the bold is the best though :D 5 stars!

The representatives should have explained that RIM (the manufacturer of BlackBerry) requires a data plan for the phone to function properly. It is a DATA phone, specializing in corporate email in addition to the standard HTML browser & entertainment features. If you don't use the corporate data & email that the phone is designed to support, you really don't have a need for a BlackBerry...

There are lots of other phones out there that don't require a data plan. Shop around.

I love it when people use that excuse to sell a sub -par piece of hardware. While 3G is fast, it is still not anywhere NEAR Wi-Fi speeds. (1.4mbps on Verizon vs. >8.0 on any DSL connection, hot spot, etc)

Actually it is not. Rev-A tops out at 1.4mbps while GSM 3G tops out at 1.8. Also, Rev-A technology uses "bursts" of speed; so in use, you will actually get about 1.0mbps regularly and 1.4 occasionally, instead of getting the fastest speed possible all the time. (GSM 3G)

i have a storm and i love it. its faster than my iphone (which i just sold) and has better features, like camera quality, video recording, mms messaging, copy/paste, removable battery, unlimited (removable) memory, wifi, screen resolution is better, call quality is better and the speaker phone is suprisingly clear and loud. the iphone is a great phone, but i definutely prefer my new storm. especially witht he new updates that make it MUCH faster than this old video. faster than the iphone now
