  • i got a rx8 and i want to put a rx7 with intercooler kit engine in plz .. tell me if you just do that if its possible .!?

  • for being such a light car though those are nice numbers

  • you got an rx7 engine ... ? and if you do it plzz tell me how much it cost for the installation

  • sick car and thats y mucle car guys cant get big headed. ima muscle guy and i know my 94 formula couldnt win against that but then again all i have is intake, edelbrock headers, and 3' piping to a turndown.

  • perty close to the power of a comaro ss, i wounder who whould win IN A DRAG RACE!!

  • I am curious on how difficult the harness swap would be. How much work went in to swapping or cutting the harness? I have an rx8 and if/when i blow the renesis, i have an rew that i am wanting to throw in it...

  • i'm pretty sure that they use the 13b from rx-7s instead because it had a lower compression ratio, allowing for higher boost numbers. rotors get messed up for sure but i'd sure like to see one that has 'collapsed'

  • Runs good. Maybe, if you still want to increase more power, then you can add

Truck size charger. If you find enough room to it. Then you can have 400-600

    horsepower.

  • @exzentrische, yes, the old greddy intercooler is on the small side, so yes upsizing it will make a bigger hp number, and there's enough room... however, the owner of the car was so happy with the power on the road, that it will likely stay unchanged for the time being. It's probably a good thing as any small-mid sized car making this sort of power is a handful... in addition the factory rear diff is handling the power now, but maybe not for long at high power levels...

    ciao,

    Jeremy

  • sweet ride

  • Awesome performance! Great job!!!!

  • sick car mate

  • I'm interested, was the Renesis engine swapped out just because the rx7 engine was already built or is there some other benefit from using the 7's engine?

  • @LimitPushing, When Mazda designed the RX8 engine they used much lighter rotors than ever before. In fact so light they will collapse with boost around 10psi... some may push them harder, but 6psi is the safe number in order to guarantee reliabilty... Unfortunately due to the new design, the rotors from the previous model 13Bs are not compatible. So that's why all big HP RX8s don't have the original engine. Would be nice if Mazda take note and offer Turbo rotors for the RX8 Renesis engine.

  • @TweakitPerformance Ah that makes sense

  • You guys can get way more than 390hp out of a t04z. Is the tune modest? brcause it's a street car?

  • @Evanofthecosmos, There are several factors involved. The car originally came to us with the RX8 engine and a Japanese turbo kit running 6psi of boost. So the intercooler and exhaust came with that kit which the customer re-used to save some money on the build. Both of which are a little restrictive. In addition mainline Dynos read lower than Dyno Dynamics, Dynapack and way lower HP numbers than Dynajet. Plus depending on the configuration of any Dyno, it's easy to get it to read higher.

  • @Evanofthecosmos, The intercooler is the modest part ;) The rear half exhaust is aftermarket as the car came to us, although not as free flowing as it could be... Yes, we've made more power from very similar setups in other Mazda's... however our customer had some parts he wanted to reuse to curb the cost of the project... fair enough, gotta give him credit for going as far as he did... Plenty of guys were dreaming about an RX8 with serious turbo power, while he was dumping is wages into it ;)

  • Nice!!

  • Really nice RX8
