When I was a teenager in the 80's John Riggins was my favorite NFL player. I was fortunate enough to meet him in 1984 and it is something I will never forget. Long live "The Diesel".

Riggins is correct in that we need O linemen. In the past we drafted FATBACKS to protect our QB's. If we have an O line we can win with nearly any quarterback. Forget about 2nd rate receivers from college and stock up on young strong linemen.

still disagree....when he had a solid o-line last year we was 6-2 and he had no turn overs.....after the o-line went down we was 2-6.......he has one wideout to create for his own in santana moss.....they double him and cooley is forced to help block with a sorry o-line....the wide receivers are simply not getting open....and portis is not the break away speed guy he once was

John, I've been a Skins fan since the Norm Snead days. No more. I haven't lived in the D.C. area for 25 years but I still carried the torch. Used to stand out in front of RFK to try and buy tickets on game day, regardless of the weather. I was on the waiting list for tickets for 20 years. But what this team represents now I don't want any part of and it's been coming awhile. Th current ownership/management is just part of it as is the punk/thug attitude of the players. Last in the NFC East--that sounds about right. Looking at the schedule, I'm not even sure we can beat the Raiders. If we do, we'll end up 3-13 because I don't see us beating anybody else on the schedule.

Jason Campbell caused the Redskins a chance at having Jay Cutler. The Broncos traded Cutler to the Bears because they preferred Kyle Orton over Jason Campbell...And for good reason, I might add! That was the only reason the Cutler deal when down for Washington.

Riggins is correct in that we need O linemen. In the past we drafted FATBACKS to protect our QB's. If we have an O line we can win with nearly any quarterback. Forget about 2nd rate receivers from college and stock up on young strong linemen.

John, I've been a Skins fan since the Norm Snead days. No more. I haven't lived in the D.C. area for 25 years but I still carried the torch. Used to stand out in front of RFK to try and buy tickets on game day, regardless of the weather. I was on the waiting list for tickets for 20 years. But what this team represents now I don't want any part of and it's been coming awhile. Th current ownership/management is just part of it as is the punk/thug attitude of the players. I miss the real Skins.

Only one thing I disagree with Riggins. He said that soon fans will be saying the Redskins are "last in the NFC East." Well, most people---including many Redskins fans---had ALREADY pegged the 'Skins to be last in the NFC East, but we didn't know it would be THIS bad.

I told many that getting Albert Haynesworth would be a bad move.
First, all Haynesworth could do is improve, marginally, an already good defense.
Second, the problem last season and again this season for the Skins is the offense.
The team lacks O-line and big play receivers.
Jerry Reese of the Giants knows how to build teams. So does Bill Polian of the Colts.
Copy what those guys do.
Look @ the job Gregg Williams is doing with the Saints D. Synder should have kept him. HA HA

Do you start making trades? Do you bench your starters with hopes of finding play makers on your bench? How can you improve your offensive line?
I wholeheartedly agree that the coach was hindered by GM and owner. But still this is an NFL team, and these are NFL players, how can U make this group of guys better each week? Can U make them better? Is there any move U would make right now, besides dumping da coach? A new coach would need a strategy.

Last in the NFC East--that sounds about right. Looking at the schedule, I'm not even sure we can beat the Raiders. If we do, we'll end up 3-13 because I don't see us beating anybody else on the schedule.

Well now that I think about it Zorn was brought in to be an Offensive Coordinator obviously he wasn't ready for the Head Coach spot. So are right Diesel he isn't a head coach but the problem is why couldn't we find a head coach to start with??? thats up to the front office to handle. Zorn was thrown into the fire and it is a bit unfair to criticize him. He was set up to fail... we all know he's not a coach he was plan B. Riggins - FYI, If it wasnt for D. Hall, there would never had been that interception and run to the 2 yardline which led to a TD. Campbell just looks like the same guy, and Zorns play calling is amature at best. But ya, dont shit on my man D. Hall...if anything, they should have picked up Vick for basically free to run the offense, or hell please just put in Tom Collins. For fuck sake, Gibbs benched campbell when he came back for Collins.

They drafted a punter, TE Fred Davis (they already had Chris Cooley!) , and 2 lousy WRs who cannot catch a cold! Instead of Fred Davis and a punter, 2 offensive linemen drafted could have helped this team out so much right about now. And Zorn deserves what he gets if he's too stupid not to make a change at QB, especially after the game vs. Tampa where Campbell turned it over 4 times!
