  • Is Auckland your only BIG CITY?...does it snow in the winter?...is it like i

living in the states (im from San Antonio texas)?..what do you do in the city for fun?...sorry if 2 many Qs.

  • @arespinoza85 auckland is our only big city, but it is actually really small compared to big cities around the world. snows in the middle of the north island and in the south island.

  • I'm glad another American feels this way about New Zealand. :D

  • thx, honest nice person. good info.

  • hey just letting you no that the nz maori came from a mythical island called Hwaiki :)

  • Just 1 mistake plus yes your only human 5cents is no longer used as they cost our "federal" reserve 7 cents each plus I'll live in the states for you and you can live in christchurch

  • Just 1 mist

  • NZ REP it hard

  • nice iteresting facts i loooooooooooooove new zealand it rocks id love to live there

  • I wanna go there as soon as possible :C

  • its funny cause the maori people are canibals

  • @supersiliconman

LOL. im maori and i dont quite enjoy eating humans haha

  • @OhomairangiR5 why not they yummy LOL

  • I recently visited New Zealand and was very upset by the loss of over 500,000 lambs in the spring weather. Lambs die every year in the NZ spring. Rather than introduce preventive measures, both the NZ government and farmers are happy to take their chances on these poor innocent lives. This is animal cruelty on a grand scale. To call NZ a developed nation is wrong, when they show no respect for animal welfare.SHAME SHAME SHAME

  • @EddieAlda It would be nice if you had quantified this with why the lambs are dying? Natural causes? Intentional deaths? I know certain amounts of livestock die each year, especially young livestock, all around the world due to a variety of causes. I am sure NZ is no different and they have millions of sheep too. Can you provide reference as to where your statistics came from?

  • @EddieAlda oi STFU those lambs died because the cold weather and it was an accident the farmers did everything in there power to save them farmers dont have big sheds to keep them in they roam out in the paddock, its not like the farmers didnt care they lost millions of dollars from losing so many lambs

  • @EddieAlda oi STFU those lambs died because the cold weather and it was an accident the farmers did everything in there power to save them farmers dont have big sheds to keep them in they roam out in the paddock, its not like the farmers didnt care they lost millions of dollars from losing so many lambs. an we already hav 90 million sheep here and only 4.2 milllion people.....

  • @EddieAlda hahahahahaha youre insane

  • @EddieAlda bro ur dry. cos no other country in the world lose livestock

  • @EddieAlda where do you suggest putting these 500 000 lambs? im from new zealand

  • @connorm691000 What a stupid question!

  • hey in from new zealand and we dont have the 5 c coin anymore and the maori wernt the 1st people here there were the moriori here first and the maori ate them all

  • @supersiliconman if you're from NZ, you should know that the theory of Moriori pre-dating Maori in NZ was discredited about 40 years. Moriori are the indigenous people of the Chatham Islands, which they settled around the same time as the Maori settled mainland NZ. Taranaki Maori invaded the Chathams violently subjugated the Moriori. It's frustrates me that so many NZers are ignorant of the country's history.

  • haha im a kiwi and this makes me so proud :)

  • you sound pretty american to me...i liike kiwi birds. :)

  • we dont have a 5 cent anymore haha

  • Sorry to say, but how you say Auckland was wierd. Im from Nz. And it sounded different. Not bad, but not amazing...

    Haha.

Idk if you put in there, only part way through but there are more sheep than people!! I think if memory serves me right, for every person there is 2 or 4 sheep!

  • @ShoobeedoobopDance Hey thanks for the comment :) Are you interested in NZ too?

  • So did you make the move? And if so how has it been?

  • Nope, some things have changed state side and unfortunately that has put off my plans for NZ possibly indefinitely.

  • WTF!! I'm sorry to hear that.

  • Yeah, it's good and bad, I ended up falling in love so I can't complain too much, but I really love NZ too. I plan on at least getting back for a visit ASAP :)

  • CONGRATS!!! Four guys from liverpool once told me that all I needed was love, And they were right.

  • something else ive noticed is that new zealanders like thea watties tomatoe sauce :)

  • 5 cent coins don't exist anymore, sadly

  • Do you wish they were still around?

  • Yeah the new coins are annoying! 5 cents were good for buying 5 cent lollies as a kid :) but the new coins are smaller and so easier to carry around

  • there's no more 5cent pieces in new zealand anymore lol

  • The name of the US coins (pennies, nickles, quarters, etc) are not "slang terms" :)

  • OK, sorry if my semantics frustrate you :)

  • NZ rocks

  • Check out "Moriori" on wikipedia. It's generally accepted these days that they were here before the Maoris. Great vid. Keep up the great work :)

Now that I've traveled, I'm making a point of getting out to places I haven't been or would like to go again. I have a little of this up on my channel already. If there's anything you'd like to see, let me know :)

  • Moriori was a tribe that was kicked out to the Chathams by Kai Tahu I think? Could of been another tribe but they weren't a seperate race from Maori :)

  • Spootmaker, This is the first time I've heard this theory, but I just a did a little reading around and it looks like you're right. Now that's an interesting plot twist!

(When people are getting suitably arrogant in politics, such info gets thrown around.)

  • Yeah it's one of those little known facts that is slowly being discovered. I try to tell people and I'm glad you had an open enough mind to look into it rather than wrongfully criticize :)

  • The Moriori story is something that was propogated by the public school system a few decades ago - hence why it is common knowledge (even though it is completely false).

  • Agreed. It's sad that even my generation of the 90's is confused about this :/

  • No they werent... the7y were a tribe of MAori that were given the boot by Kai Tahu... just a weaker tribe that was overwhelmed and forced out by a stronger tribe.

  • Hmmmmm... I just looked on Wikipedia and it supports what I just said... lol.

... You must have skipped over the 1st few paragraphs. ... Oh well.

  • Hey. Cool video. Where in NZ did you go?

  • Thanks! I did a trek between Auckland and Queenstown. I tried to hit the 3 big cities and a few smaller ones along the way. I was wonderful and I still think about it daily :)

  • great.veri informative

  • Thank you, glad you enjoyed it :)

  • Yeah I was reminded of that shortly after I made this video, oh well eh? :)

  • Thanks for your comment!

I do know what you mean I have had many people ask me about Oregon or about the States, but it's hard to pick stuff out when it's all just "normal" every day stuff.

  • Hey cool video. I have been meaning to do a video of actual facts about NZ. I think it's a lot more relevant for a foreigner such as yourself to do videos like this, because they can highlight points of difference. It's hard for me to talk about NZ because it's all I know, y'know! Ask me any questions, I'd be glad to help!
