Sorry guys, I'm an SBU student, and i gotta say that the atmosphere at this university sucks ass. Stuff like this is just a way of letting off steam before finals. Do yourself a favour and go to NYU or something

It's true. The lifestyle isn't anywhere near as enjoyable as it would be if you were living in NYC as an NYU/Columbia student. Many students are from the city, they just stay on campus during the week, and go home on Thu/Fri nights for the weekend. There is no 'fun college atmosphere' at this school. That can be good or bad, depending on what kind of student you are. Most students have very little school pride, which is reflected in the shitty attendance for football/bbal games

@FlyingPig1902 NYU is highly overrated. You accumulate 160,000+ debt for a degree with the same significance as one from a SUNY. I'm a quiet girl who hates partying and loves science, so SB is the perfect school for me. I wish the RAs and Advisors would get off my back about student activities, as I just want to be left the hell alone. I also love the Suburban atmosphere when walking around campus. I hope to live one day in the suburbs :)

A party school is where students have actual parties- not sit around in West drinking Nat Lite. That's just a pseudo party. That's like kids pretending to be big kids. This school isn't set up to be a party school because of where it is and how it was built. Not the students fault entirely.
