hi mate i am not disagreeing with the way you paint but you tend to lose a lot of paint spraying this way i tend to hold the the spray can a bit closer to the product i tend to hold the spray can 7 to 10 inches away from the product any how its looking good so far
@Peterrides I used the high temp engine primer as well. Same as the paint, just a primer. The PJ1 stuff is pretty much discontinued but another company makes the same stuff. Color Rite...
@Johnnysshop I will for sure, Im going to ask you a good bit of questions if you dont mind, I have a 2000 yz250 so atleast we both have yamahas and I can use most of your videos as a reference.
i like how you are honest about how you're not that great at painting, that things didnt come out exactly the way you had hoped, and that bearings get stuck, etc. and "who cares?" comments.
@humilitantmilitant With this stuff supposedly you don't need to. As it's drying, the new coat sticks better to the previous coat. Or so they say. According to them the clear must go on shortly after the base. If not, it won't stick.. We'll see how she holds up!
hey johnnysshop did you have to take that somewhere to get it heat treated because thats what my dad said and im really confused because i have a 2001 thats in dier need of TLC
@86camaromike Thanks! Yeah, it actually looks even better in person. I'm kinda shocked. I'd love to take some auto body courses, I just hate sanding...

As expensive as dirt bikes are you would think they would be a little more careful in the manufacturing process.

@chiko909 Not a huge selection. They do have an orange though.

@noplacelikehome92399 Could have been cheap paint.Sounds good, on the coating. The paint thickness just depends on the paint.
Johnnysshop 1 year ago
@noplacelikehome92399 It's holding up great, no chips at all. Sounds like maybe you didn't prep it? Did you strip all the paint and prime it?
Johnnysshop 1 year ago
do you have to let it cure after all the steps of painting?
