This is a great show but it has one major flaw. That flaw is this episode. This episode just reveals things and then just zooms past them. The whole Maka being a weapon thing is more of a mid to late season reveal not a last episode one. Also, i the ending is a total cop out, you bring in a character that can defeat DEATH HIMSELF in a fight but one 13 year old girl saying she's brave completely destroys him? SERIOUSLY?!?!?

Now there's a good start... Some drama needs to happen as well like in FMA Brotherhood. Mabe Maka gets a crush on Crona, and Stein and Marie get married... IDK Some drama needs to happen, I like the action as well, more villians and more drama shoul do with all the needs to make a second series or a To Be Continude

In the manga Maka and Soul learn to fly, Black Star and Tsubaki master Shadow Star and become the strongest students in the DWMA, more Death Scythes show up like Tezca, and there's a new villain named Noah who owns the Book of Eibon. Oh hoho...I think I know why Maka's Genie or Kishin Hunter did not defeat the Kishin...if you go back tp episode 45, Stein says that it purifies things that are impure...and then Medusa comments it won't be enough to defeat the Kishin...you see Madness is something that everyone has. Madness in itself is not impure...which is why Maka could not defeat the Kishin with her Anti-Magic which draws out the impureness from something. Even Maka has madness! I got it!

Also, if you rewatch it, you would understand from the anime character's point of view, by doing that, you understand a lot more better. This is my opinion, and I don't mean to insult, or be a smart ass. Maka had some troubles in the past, and she tries-but fails-to overcome them. She manages though, through courage and the will to fight. By breaking the shields around his head with that word, and with everyone to weak to stand on there own, saying that she has courage in her heart. So it was courage that defeated the Kishin, possibly what one could call the opposite of "fear". It wasn't super powers, or great battle moves that could defeat the Kishin...after all what are the DWMA really fighting against? The Kishin or the madness/fear that the Kishin brings with it? Was it really a battle of physical strength of a battle of the mind and heart?

@JendayiHamilton I understand the ending, I just think how they did it was dumb. What was the point of Kishin Hunter and Maka turning into a weapon if neither worked? It was trying way too hard to be dramatic. There's also the fact that Soul wasn't used for most of the fight. The series is about teamwork and friendship yet Maka kills Asura. All the character development needed to understand each other and work together was thrown away so that Maka could punch Asura in the face.

@redmage2000 Yea I get ya. But that's the point a bit...Maka couldn't beat the Kishin by herself, even if she turned into a weapon. Maka didn't really beat the Kishin by herself...everyone did. I agree it was a little over the top. But it wasn't just Maka's strength, it was everyone's courage together that beat the Kishin, not just Maka. Without her friends placing their trust and courage in her, they would not have been able to defeat the Kishin. That is teamwork, I think.

@JendayiHamilton When I say by herself I mean without Soul. Maka and Soul are a team and throughout the series, they went through difficulties understanding each other and faced their problems. The thing is though that this ending kills all the character development that they went through. Besides, if Black Star, Tsubaki, Kid, the Thompsons, and Soul were all alive and well, then why the hell didn't they help Maka? Honestly it's just bad writing.

Even when she turned into a weapon, she was basically just a empty body fighting because she blocked out her fear. But when she finally realized it wasn't super strength that was needed, it was something simple that EVERYONE has. Black Star, Death the Kid, Soul...all had courage. It was their courage, with her punch that defeated the Kishin.

The Kishin cannot comprehend or even understand what courage is...since he is a coward. That scares him...courage of an ordinary person---
