  • Oops!! I meant Dispatcher 3-3-0...

  • WOW.. Dispatcher, tree, tree, ate.. One of my favorites!! I can put a face to the name..

  • GOD Bless

  • Regarding the hwys There are times FD gets 1st due and PD is stuck in heavy traffic trying to get to the same job The PD dispatcher TMC and others have experinced the difficultty coomunications is btwn agencies.

Someone needs to activily stand "Watchstander" listening to radio communications

Arent we in the middle of a war now

How many more first responders must be lost before we realize that

  • I work as an authorized hwy tow dispatcher and see it on a regular basis how the agencies respond to the jobs. When one agency responds 1st due the others have very little to no Foward situational awareness. Its best to know whats happening before going 84 then getting there and finding out the hard way after arrival.

Police Patrol continously while firefighters may have hours without a job. In the event of downtime housewatch could programmable scanner with surrounding police frequencies

  • Many of the FDNY Dispatchers know what I was doing after 9-11

On 9-11 I was at W.Houston and West st Command w/ NYPD Dep Ginn and Dep Insp Angela McCarthy standing Radioman

  • Thats not true Police force entry to houase fires on a regular basis.

The fact that FD Housewatch only listen to themselves and not surrounding activity shows what the problem was on 911.

I said it would happen when I ran with Tehhouse as an aux 98-99

    7The Captain stated they had a command center in 5 & 7

Lot a good that did on 9-11

  • what if its an overnight alarm and the cops get there first on a pick up?

What if the cops force entry to evacuate and get trapped with the people in the house?

Should there a watchstander monitoring police and fire frenquencies for just such an emergency?

  • @NYsentinel what?? overnight alarm?? watchstander?? PD doesn't force entry to a pickup of a 59.

  • what avenue or street is that near?

  • Also, Beef once told me that his alarm receipt appearance in this video was completely staged - further evidenced by the fact that he's on the ERS phone and asking the caller for their phone number...

  • Anyone else notice the lousy editing job, causing Cashin to repeat himself at the beginning of the video?

  • I'm trying to pick out Beef. What time does he appear?

  • quiz: what's the "ding" at 5:57 for? first person that gets it right gets an FDNY t-shirt.

  • He said he would alert the fire and the alarm went off.

  • negative. it was the motion detector at the gate.

  • Impressive. As a 911 Supervisor I would love to come up and tour FDNY dispatch. Any ideas how I could do that??????????

  • The internet is a wonderful thing.

  • Wasnt the dispatcher at 3:46 also the brooklyn dispatcher on 9/11?

  • Never mind.. he wasnt on the radio that day.

I've heard him a couple weeks ago at a 3 alarm in Brooklyn.

  • No, that's Mark Mianulli, dispatcher 281. he was working in the X on 9/11.

  • BTW...If Treanor's "fire" at Cablevison in the Bronx, if received in, say, 1972, in the middle of the day, would have been met with, "Cablevision, eh?" Big fire?" And you're the only one who sees it, right?" SLAM!

  • Re: "legendary" dispatchers...yes, those guys mentioned were perhaps "legendary," but those "legends" soon disappear when one leaves the Central Offices. Just ask Joe Higgins, Warren, Elbaum and a host of others who passed though the doors of "Club 1129" & 35 Empire Blvd. Once you're out, your out. You're yesterday's news. and it's the same way (even more so) with the Uniformed Force.

  • It says a lot about the "leadership" of communications that the same computer equipment used in the 1970s was still being used in 1995.

  • Totally awesome, this is how I remember the Bronx CO, my brother and I were sometime visitors back in the 70's and 80's, anyone remember Ziggy feundlic (dont know if I got the spelling correct, Sorry) or Sol Elbaum? Heard the Office has gotten a major upgrade into the 21st century, would love to pay a visit. Safe tour to all.....

  • Childs play compared to Brooklyn...The Boro of Fire!

  • The boro of fire .

Get a hold of yourself buffy.

  • Saying " smoke up on the # tree floor, dispatcher tree-tree-oh does not make you a legend.

A good dispatcher yes . A legend no.

O'Connell, and Treanor could be considered legendary

    RIP Dennis.

  • the DVD contains bonus features, extras and deleted scenes, 1 deleted scene captures O'Hanlon loading up his locker with paper towels , toilet paper and various commisary items.

  • this video also features the bill treanor green chair "his walker" at 0:15 . all you need is that load of fucking loose change and rubber bands he left laying around when he went down to the penguin house at 2255.oh yeah and a tube of chapstick.

  • brylcreem?

  • I counted 68 cents and 2 good rubberbands once!

  • No stoggie in Marks hand please....Bill Treanor I love you but should they really have shown the one finger hunt and peck method of typing. And I love the all boys shcool of dispatching very representing. Im glad I missed this one on tv.John Cashin still love ya....lets not forget the script....fire department dispatcher #)( what is the address of the fire...not one did that as well as Turner...although Schneider came in close....

  • how did they ever get mark and brendan to sit for more than 2 hours to make this video? I am sure they had to go out and do building inspection or stop by engine 48.

  • This is great stuff
