  • i like that mini sentry.

    gives a nice offensie boost and packs quite a punch but it also recuires 1 metal for each shot so it takes a lot of metal to reload it.

    and you keep having morons who use them in defence and that is not thair strongest point..

    i like that new bleeding wrench.

    new shotgun : u get crits if ur sentry made kils and is dead but the ammo capacity is a real annoying feuture which makes it bad

  • I dislike the wrangler as I dont really find it usefull xD I prefer auto-aiming from the scrips, but I do see some stuff thats good, like around-corner enemies could be tricked, but yeah I guess it's how you have your setup, what gamemmode and how you play, I personally play arena alot, so I always place mini sentries and then do my own thing, or I camp at my sentrie, Being a mini still ofcourse, minies > big ones in arena :P

    the re-painter: a paint gun like thing that temporarily change enemy team color to theirs to have painted enemy get friendly fire. (replaces 2nd slot)

    Irene: a double-barrel slug-gun that shoots very accurate bursts of bullets but it's -25% of bullets shot out of the barrel & damage done (replaces 1st slot)

    the broken ?: a broken wrench-gun-like thing +50% hit rate, guaranteed crit on full metal capacity, -25% damage & degrades metal when hitting enemy (replaces melee)

  • @UNOWNBX Sounds like an idea I have for the blow torch. It can overheat, but builds/repairs faster when concentrated. It does about 15% damage on enemies, but sets them on fire for about 3 seconds.

  • A engineer teaser has came out. Search google 'TF2 Engineer teaser'

    He's working on something. But as you may notice. There are a lot of things that could happen ingame in that teaser.

    At the start you can see he's guitar. After that. You'll see a Welder. possible a weapon? :D

    And at the end, you can see he's picking up a hammer. Maybe faster hit rating or something?

    Oh! And one more thing! You can also see a blueprint at the back of the engineer. It's an robotarm. Could that be something ? :P

  • I'm pretty sure it'll be a specific type of dispenser, apparently instead of the pistol or something . And the sentry will be also something mobile, but NOT a giant robot, that'll be "OVERPOWER".

    Replaces typical dispenser AND chews up slot 2 (where the pistol goes).

    BUT you get to carry a dispenser level 2 with you wherever you go.

    Maybe with the secondary fire, you could drop it or pick it up.

    Metalgun:

    A modified version of Medic's Medigun. Replaces wrench. Shoots a beam of metal to any upgradable or damaged building (like the medigun does with people). Drains metal supply. Can't be used to attack with.

    Ubercharge-like power for 8 seconds.

    I like the idea of the dispenser backpack, but there would have to be a lot of balancing issues

    Level one, no metal, doesn't give health or ammo to engineer carrying it, engineer carrying it can't break off sappers, when destroyed the resulting explosion hurts the engineer.

  • A motorized cart you can build on

    1 you can build a pretty good amount on it and can go on land or water but moves around the speed of a bomb cart

    2 anyone can run it (wasd type control) just jump on it to run it and jump off it to stop and even the other team can capture it and then run it (changes color when happens) also the Engi who built it originally can't just blow it up when it's captured it has to be A. recaptured or B. blown-up by someother means cont.V

    Also the cart itself is not sappable,but whatever is built on it is still sappable and if the cart is blown-up everything on it blows-up as well.

    3 takes 2 items to build it 1 the wrench and your choice of gun is replaced by a battery-operated drill with a socket on it (causes no damage) but as you run it,it uses "ammunition" but it can build rediculously fast and 2 a toolbag for holding 400 metal which is the same amount as it takes to build the cart. cont.V

    And finally you can build 2 two way teleporters (instead of those one way ones) that only works for your team and can even be built in your spawn.

    Those 2 things would be really nice to have in my opinion.

  • I have an idea for an engie update.

    Allows you to place 2 more of every building and takes away your shotgun.

  • My idea: Decoy Buildings (Sentry Guns, Dispensers, and Entrance/Exit Teleporters).

    They look, move, and sound like the real buildings, but don't do anything... unless provoked. The Sentry Guns will act like they're out of ammo, as will the Dispensers. If an enemy tries to attack it (or in the case of Spies, sap it), it will immediately explode, causing a tremendous amount of damage to anyone unlucky enough to be close by.

  • Decoy buildings would be a great idea.

    Then we could finally say "That Sentry is a Spy!"

  • I forgot to add a couple of things. It will replace the Build PDA (the Destroy PDA will still work). The Engineer who built it and his teammates will be able to tell it's a fake (it will say "Decoy" before the building name). The other team won't, though. They can also be upgraded. The higher level it's at, the bigger and stronger the explosion will be. I'm not sure whether it should cost more, less, or the same amount of metal to build them.

  • I think your sentry shotgun should have less ammo than you allot. Maybe +25% or so, controlled crits are always a weary sign especially with the range you give your alternate sentry. Otherwise not a bad thought, I always felt the engi update was lacking in alternate weapons.

  • 1. SMG (replaces pistol) - Like the snipers SMG - 75% damage done + 100% mag capacity + when hit a spy, It will drain 5% cloak per bullet

    2. Ripperjack (Replace Shotgun). Will look slightly like the scattergun -15 max health -20 metal per shot -50 max metal carried +10% damage done +Can upgrade sentries at a range

  • 1. gaurd dog (replace pistol) - dog growls at cloaked and disguised spies within range (same range as sentry) -attacks disguised spies that come too close, immobilizing them (but just growls in general area for cloaked spies) 2. A welder (replace wrench) -2x repair/upgrade speed -lights enemies on fire -taunt kill where electricity zaps from the engie's fingers. 3. A pouch (replace pistol) -doubles metal carrying capacity -allows engie to drop metal for teammates -slower movement speed, maybe?
  • guard dog is way overpowered, and I don't even play spy but seriously, revealing and even attacking spies? spy class already sucks to play against a paranoid team now you want to pit AI against him? The pouch is an interesting concept.

  • I think there should be device, costing 150 metal, that alerts the engineer when a spy is nearby, but doesn't actually give the spy's location. That way the spy and the engi have a fair chance XD.

  • well one thing is a remote moving sentrygun or robot, a wrench with faster build time but less damage, a back pack that aquires more metal, and last but not least a way to build two sentries.

  • A remote-control moving sentry with a mini-gun, and (maybe) airblast. You can't move while controlling it, and can only reload it by hitting it.

    Two level 1 ball-shaped sentry guns.

    A revolver that marks targets for your sentries.

    A dispenser backpack for teammates.

    A shotgun that sprays pellets that glow the enemy's color if they hit a disguise.

    A shield generator that replaces your secondary, and builds a shield around teammates that can take 100 damage, but costs 200 metal.

  • how about instead of him getting new weapons he gets new PDAs ex. and defence PDA with 3 senterys and a despecer(i know my spelling is crap) a front lines PDA 2 senterys and 2 despencers, and a teli PDA 1 sentery 2 teli entrece and a teli exit( one entrece for both spawns like in 2fort, suport PDA 3 senterys and a sentery.

    If you like the idea and send it in to Valve put Kotbaw on the credits.

  • I want engies to build cooler things like a tank that multiple people can mount AND i'd like engies to be able to build a bunker, like a mini fort.

    As for the tank, i'd like it to cost like 2000 metal or something, so it would take a group effort to build one and keep it maintained.

    As for the bunker, well it pretty much explains itself, once built it provides cover, a dispenser and a teleporter exit all in one but cant build a sentry as a leveler.

  • Another cool idea is a robot drone. Very fast small unit thats easily destroyed but kills quickly with melee attacks.

    Costs 200 metal to build, point it in the direction you want it to go when building and it will seek and destroy on its own.

  • I doubt the buildings will receive updates, in the load out page it shows the Shotgun/Pistol and Wrench. But you never know really.

  • I hope they come out with a Flame Sentry, with shorter range that a regular.

    As for the shotgun, it should have 25% more damage to buildings. I don't know about the pistol, and the wrench should be 20% slower swing, but it should give 50 metal instead of 25.

  • i think for matching demoman should be a barrier generater that when you hit with wrench makes shield for like 4-5 seconds but then has recharge time of like 40 seconds or more possibly 1 minute+. it would bounce projectiles away, but would not stop bullets or fire and it can be walked through like a bubble. just a idea but dunno whether would upset the balance lol, but would give a skilled engineer a chance to defend rushes, demospam.

  • I have an idea, how about a beacon? One that the engineer throws at an enemy so the sentries (that mean allies' sentries too) fire only at that target? It can be on the ground to spam ammo so that spies can't pass.

  • spy is the main engineer counter-class, if you gave engies a tool against them, it would really throw off the balance.

  • common misconception, soldier is the main engy counter class. spy is the sniper's main counter. Although he is pretty good against an engineer unless the engy is really guarding his sentry.

  • I always thought that the demoman was the main engy counter class.

    I have more trouble as an engy with demomen than soldiers and spies put together.

    Spies can be shot and their sappers removed.

    I can turtle a soldier indefinitely, outside of an uber that allows him to kill me directly.

    However, three sticky bombs will take out me, my sentry and my dispenser, and a good demoman can toss these from a distance rather quickly.

  • @BipolarBomber There is now a way to get your Sentry not destroyed by a Demoman. If a Demo uber is coming, just activate the Wrangler, shoot away deployed sticky bombs. The demoman needs 8 Sticky bombs to destroy a shielded Sentrygun and if you shoot 2-3 away, he must reload again -> WIN

    a whole new building, a security camera. sounds stupid but listen (or read :P)

    u would get one maybe two cameras and build them. it would be small, weak and able to scan the room 360 degrees and detect spies but tagging them (or something like that) or it could just scan the room and give all others players a little screen in the corner of there screen so they could c what is going on. im ready for the negtive comments lol :D

  • The Engineer update didn't give him new weapons. It made Dispensers and teleporters able to get upgraded to level 3. This happened before scout update and after heavy and medic and pyro..

  • No.... The official update for the engie is still not out. This was a small change to how some of his buildings works. It is little more than a small tweak.

  • Apparently the update for the 360 is too big for an average 360s storage device/hard drive to be able to hold, probably only 360 owners with the "elite" HD would be able to hold it but thats really fucking expensive but valve is trying to figure out a way to work it in.

  • It's not about the harddrives, but the amount of memory the 360 has. They just can't pack the new content in the memory.

  • Well hands down PC version is better, we get 0-6 updates evry month normally 2-3, PC version has better graphics (for faster comps), more maps ability to add custom content like skins, custom maps, kind of better controls (at lest i like PC controls better). And yes sometimes we do get lag, but i almost never get lag. My fps is normally around 60, probably most comps will have around 30-60 fps. I am sorry xbox and ps dont haev updates, but i heard a xbox one is comming, too bad it will be paid.

  • i noticed from the last update, the teleporters now upgrade together if not already lvl3. usually, you had to upgrade both of them.
