I could agree actually with the John Bircher on a lot of foreign policy stuff, which kinda frightens me. But on domestic policy, this guy is a basket case.
Lord help us, if he is REALLY as popular as they say.
Ron Paul's foreign policy hasn't met reality. Who's going to keep the shipping lanes open without the US Navy? Would he trust it to the Russians or the Chinese? Please. Submarines need bases, too -- or would he have them all work out of Norfolk? I like his (vague, probably limited by limited time here) ideas about closing more tax-gobbling federal agencies. Their mission creep is ridiculous. We need more jobs that produce that fewer that eat taxes, as. gov't jobs do.
You could eliminate all those departments Paul wants to get rid of: Interior, Energy, FEMA, etc. all of them, and you'd still have a massive deficit for many, many years.
Paul's last answer about eliminating National Parks, was a non answer. Vaguely saying our departments don't do anything, or land should be sold off. Last time I visited a National Park it seemed to me the Rangers were plenty busy working, and I'd hate to see the back country sold to the highest private bidder.
to pay off the debt it has accumulated is too much. I think its a legitimate stance that the the federal government consumes enough of American wealth already.
But I am certainly willing to listen to your explanation as to why that is not so or why I am badly confused on the situation, the terminology, and so forth. Thanks.
As a lover of your channel, if you're gonna get on paul, don't do it on foreign policy, his economics is easy enough fodder. He'd make a great diplomat.
Libya didn't give up their nuclear progeam because the US was nice to them, they suddenly made the offer to dismantle it because they were sick of sanctions. Fear of being invaded was probably also a factor.
haha. "perhaps if i give the video a generically negative title i'll be able to prejudice a few half-wits enough before the watch it that they won't notice paul soundly rebutting every contrived challenged presstitute shcieffer could muster"
it works, too, i'm sure. most news consumers aren't even listening; they're just watching. tell them what they're seeing and they'll believe it.
works just as well on the rabid ron paul side. they think every stumbling answer is genius
However, I don't see what's so wrong about him criticizing the foreign policy of the United States. You guys have to admit, our foreign policy is an extremely dangerous, right wing, and reactionary disaster.
@jimmycrackedcorn226 He's yammering about our US troops and how they aggravate people in foreign nations. He thinks highly of our American Forces, I can tell. Ron Paul should have his own sugary cotton candy stand in a carnival
@FranklinParkIL I dunno but Military Members have donated more money to Ron Paul's campaign than anyother of the candidates... combined. Perhaps he has a point on troops occupying other people's land I mean I'd be kind of weary of Chinese soldiers yammering around in Los Angeles you would too right?
Interesting title... personally I thought Ron Paul handled himself very well.

I thought Shieffer was kind of a dick. He could barely disguise his withering contempt.

Bob Schieffer didn't say it with his voice but I think I know (from his facial expression) what he was thinking about Paul's last answer.
