Great video! That is indeed a Gold Dust Day Gecko (phelsuma laticauda laticauda) and they eat ripe fruit and small insects. Not native to Hawaii but introduced.

They are diurnal. Generally the HI locality has more red pattern on its back than a laticauda of pure locality. Inexpensive Phelsuma and one of the most beautiful.

Those guys must have been introduced and population exploded 'cause they weren't there when I lived there. The geckos I always saw were brown, tan, or grey. I went to visit a while back and these bright green ones were everywhere. Everywhere! This was in kona BTW. Are they in other parts of hawaii too? When did this happen? Where did they come from?
