@clashrogers The book's one of my favorites. There's a 1998 teledrama based on it ( see Wiki). Karen from Goodfellas is in it and the big guy that goes nuts in Full Metal Jacket. Only found out recently.

this is how a short review should be, i liked it overall, the storyline was similar to the classic with some twists and changes so they can appeal to the mdern world. but unlike they didnt reflect the economic situation we're living today like the first one did, denzel played the role very well but i felt like he was a ginny pig in the movie, travolta was good but he didn't seem in control of the situation, its missing the humour but not the action

i'd give it 6 out of 10

I saw this yesterday and I loved it! It had non-stop action, good comic relief and I loved how therer was a pop-up map to show the audience where we were in NYC. The acting was great! John was so good at times it scared me lol

1. a story of some sort

2. good actors who can ACT well

2. a good script

Those are the three main ingredients. With those you cannot go too far wrong.

Over the top special effects are the bane of modern film making, because they TRY to paper over the crap underneath.
