  • This is really cool.

  • one of the faster ones...

  • Thanks for taking the trouble to reply. I must say its interesting to see what can be done with relatively simple steam engines- my first steam boat was a non-reversing, twin cylinder, single acting oscillator and I think I had more fun with that than many subsequent boats.Regards,

    Ian

  • @ianed57 I agree, the simpler it is, the less there is to go wrong- and easier to fix...

  • This is lovely and I think you boat is a very pretty design- did you design it yourself? I was interested to see you using Midwest plants as I have one of their simple oscillators and a vertical boiler but have never been keen to use solid fuel.I think I noticed that there were two shafts or are the engines in tandem- it would be great to have more information- but .. very nice!

  • @ianed57 The other half of Rapidnadion, Shadowsail, built this one ... I'll try to get him over here to share some details with you!

  • @ianed57 Hi- Yes, the design is by me. The Midwest model VI engines are geared in parallel to the output (propeller) shaft through 2 sets of reduction gears. See "dual boiler/ dual engine steam launch".. . Thanks for responding.

  • Great job man, she looks amazing!

  • wonderful. and what a day...mill pond smooth.

  • Awesome! :)

  • I like it :)

May I ask, how much does it cost to buy all the parts to build a such model (engines, radio and so on)
