0:14 " Phoenix Team One, you have a green light and are clear and naked..." What??? Unless this is Police Academy, or Loaded Weapon 1, that doesn't sound like standard jargon.
This game was awesome for its day. And Bethesda just got so much better over the years. I played this game for many hours before finishing it. The seeds of the Fallout tree were first planted when they did the very first Terminator game for DOS. Sure it was mostly polygons and only had 8 or 16 colors but you could walk and drive all through the world it was ground breaking for its day.
Depressing story... Terminator 2029 has been one of my childhood greatest failures. I remember getting a computer for my 10th b-day and I wanted this game so badly and my parents bought it. I went home to find that I didn't have 1mb of EMS memory. Needless to say, it took nearly 15 years before I actually got to play the first computer game I bought.
You can definitely see some inspiration in their later works such as Skynet and Skynet Future Shock as well as the Fallout games.
Don't know what it is about Bethesda and their enjoyment of doing games based on apocalyptic scenarios. I'm not complaining though, I think Bethesda produced some of the best Terminator games on the market, which is saying a lot because most Terminator games unfortunately, suck.
@Waxer3929 Bethesda did LOTS of Terminator games, I think they secured the license before the 2nd film work even started *there's one from 1990 for example).
@Waxer3929 And now, most of Bethesdas games suck... It's weird that they actually made great games once, but after Morrowind they only produced crap...
@fredmachine I thought Fallout 3 was pretty fun, even if the majority of the Fallout series was originally produced by Interplay. Same goes with Call of Cthulhu, even if the x-box version was a bit glitchy. I can't exclude Elder Scrolls IV, again, even though it's basically Fallout 3 but with MAGIC.
I'm still waiting though for a remake of Skynet with a feel like Fallout 3, or at least an HD version, I'm sure that would be fun.
But yeah, they need to produce some more games and more variety.
To the poster of this movie, I own a copy of this game for my collection but I wonder if it still fun to play.
Would it be worth the time to mess with Dosbox to get it up and running?
As for what the other posters said, I think the Future War in Cameron's classics was more post nuclear apocalypse than TS which seems more like "Life after Man".
Damn i liked this game :D
I wish they make a remake of this.

Could use a modern remake I think :)

Wow, it's like playing Ultima Underworld but restricted to the 4 directional world of Alternate Reality: The City. This game is just awful.

Rubbish game? What do you expect this game was made in 1986, and its not rubbish, just an old generation of gaming.

Damn... This looks like it could have been awesome if it wasn't for the incredibly awful frame rate, fixed camera angles, and static background.
Imagine if this had been made for the Mechwarrior 4 engine.

I agree! This is way better than Salvation. The new games can never compete with the old.
