People who put down metal bands with female singers piss me off quite a lot. I think female fronted metal bands are the best metal bands there are. I don't like metal with male lead singers usually because they don't sing... they just do that nasty sounding scream/growl crap. By the way, this song is awesome.

@hyperfast87 I don't quite agree with this, but neither do I agree with putting down female vocals. Both can be good and bad. My own preference is male only because I also do like the growling in addition to singing. And for growling I do love Angela Gossow so I do not consider that I have any particular gender bias. If more women growled I would like more female volcals, of that I'm sure :)

But Ambeon doesn't require growling or male vocals to sound good. It's perfect this way.

No, the Album came out, when she just became 14. She was 13 when this was recorded.

By the way: Arjen started recording an Album non-vocal and just Ambiant mixed with Ayreon. He named the Project Ambeon, but then he found a Demotape of Astrid in the Postbox and invited the girl for a recording.

The Lyrics were all written by Astrid herself and Arjen just picked them.

This song is awesome, my favourite from the album, along with Sweet Little Brother. Astrid's vocals are amazing, for a fourteen year old. I love that little duel she has with the electric guitar in the middle of the song, after the guitar solo, it shows how much talent she has with her voice :)

I recognise all the original tracks that these were taken from except this one --- Into the black hole from Into the Electric Castle, it's changed so much it almost sounds like an original song with the stunning guitar breaks. Ambeon is (with Astrid Vander Veen's vocals and melodies) an incredible album if a little short. Only Arjen Lucassen could do a Gothic/Ambient album and pull it off.
