Often game reviewers will comment on the acting and writing in the cut scenes cinematics and then show one of these scenes that occur very early in the game. The one with Vlad and Niko in Roman's taxi depot is NOTHING compared to some of the later ones. Especially the ones with Dwayne and the mysterious Federal agent who blackmails Niko.
I've played GTA 4 and I've messed around on missions and even if you kill a main character that wasn't supposed to die the story isn't cut off. It manages to roll over that incident(usually) I mean you could play GTA 4 100 times and still have tweaked story lines. For instance you can have 3 girlfriends with original voices and scripts and if you get caught cheating the girls interact with each other. This in depth "choose your path" style really reminds me of Fable in that sense.
The voice-acting and scripting for me was really good for San Andreas, and from what i hear in this review it's still as good, if not better. I really enjoyed SA characters and plotlines, and i don't think that storytelling wise i'd be let down.
The autoload and autosave sounds great. That also tends to tax the processor. You'd think I'd know, but I have not followed the chipset of these consoles very well. The CGI is excellent. This game looks like a charming way to blow off steam at the end of a long day.
I think he was commenting more on how the characters were not really photorealistic. The graphics are still really good, but that is not the main feature. There are games with better graphics out there.
Well, if that's the case, that was poorly phrased. He basically said the graphics aren't GOOD. If they were photorealistic, the graphics would be considered FUCKING AWESOME. The graphics in this game are definitely more than "good".
you can turn off autosave

The faces in the cut scenes and in the game get to me. Too last-gen. Other than that, the graphics are sweet.

I kinda agree with you there. I do think they improved on the facial features a little though. I think they show more expression and emotion.

bullshit! you must've never played a game with really good graphics!
MurdockMcAbre 3 years ago
well they aren't, ps3 is capable of much better graphics, but GTA4 is actually such a big game,
that making the graphics more realistic would make the game lagg a lot
