  • heelllppp!! what instruments are used in this? apart from the drums....

  • @lekara3219 It's an electro acoustic score. So I think synths may be used? I could be wrong though.

  • GOOD LUCK EVERYONE IN THEIR DANCE EXAM IN LESS THAN AN HOUR NOW!!!! Just remember all the different dance relationships like Complimentary Phrases of Movement and Unison. Commedia Dell'arte is the word for the comedy double act where the red nose is used. You'll all be fine! Show your knowledge off.

  • thank you so mch :D

  • i have my dance written paper on thursday aswell,my essay question is on costume aswell!!!i tried getting birdsong on dvd and it was like £12,so i doubt u'll b able 2 get this anywhere cheap!!!

  • oh my god same!! i dont know wnaything about bird song, and i have it on thursday! im doing swansong, penguin cafe, front line, bird song and the car man ahh :O i hate birdsong lol, i did a practice paper todaay and didnt know antyhing about birds omg oh dear lol x

  • Birdsong's actually got very little to do with birds- it's about people's reaction to music. Only the central solo is based on the song of the Australian Pied Butcher Bird. (spot the girl who is also rather frantically revising!)

    Good luck both of you!

  • ahh omg its tomorow! so i am going to frabtically revise birdsong tonight like dynamics and actions in birdsong etc and costumes on all things, serious panicking :( :( good luck to you too!

  • hey, hope everyone did ok in exams!

its so surreal, i used to watch penguin cafe all the time when i was little, cos my dad had it video cassette! (that long ago)

My class did Swansong, Park (jasmin Vardimon) Overdrive (richard Alston) Yippeee! (lea anderson) swan lake (matthew bourne) and then i did Penguin cafe instead. You know they're scrapping EPNs for the next lot of dance gcses? I was royally peed off!!!

  • im studying this for GCSE! got my written exam in 2 weeks, does anyone know if i can see it live anywhere soon ? x

  • omg same!! apart from the seeing it live lol

  • shit actually make that one week im soo scerwed lol

  • absolutely amazing, studying it for GCSE, and saw it last year at theatre, its the one I understand the most :-)

  • Have my assessment on this tomorow! Great dance though.

My fave dance by far is Eternal light though :D

  • Studied this for GCSE!! & seen it live!! My fav by farrrr!! :oD Although, the other guy with slightly longer hair is better :oD lol xXx

  • i think this was the hadest peice we had to interperate, the choreography is so intence and percise, its so technical. one of my favourites to watch though, its great.

  • i remember seeing rambert perform this last year it was so incredible watching it live. A completely different experience, and i was then lucky enough to have rambert come in for a week to our college and we actually learnt some of the rep from swan song. it is just the most beautiful choreography i have ever danced i loved it!!!! :-)

  • someone from rambert came to our school as well but we learnt something from there new thing called like internal light ? i cant remember and it was really hard :S

  • woop, cant wait 2 do dis dance 4 ma BTEC assesment in january, soo can remeber when i saw it in theatre, luved it:D

  • omg i remember watching this for GCSE Dance. I love it!

  • What I'd really like, is a clip of the teasing guards part, where they do their sort of comedy double act. Would really love to share this with people! Sadly, these are the only two clips on the internet... =(

  • @solebaci Yes!! it so needs to be on here! I love that bit!

  • An absolutely amazing piece of choreography

  • Redundant and unmusical score for this piece. Yeech!

  • it's not meant to be musical. Somehow, i dont think a full-blown orchestrated symphony will represent imprisonment and torture.

  • agreed
