  • the begginin of this song is... it cant be played

  • Anyway he left Coheed :(

  • 2:27 orgasm face XD

  • he said the way things were became a drag internallly. coheed is my fav band, chris is my fav drummer. GO !!!

  • i love coheed and cambria but Pennie is to good for them

  • Comment removed

  • COME BACK TO DILLINGER FOR CHRISTS SAKE! Your inhuman demon beats are not worthy of Coheed and Bumbria... sorry Coheed fans.

  • at 1:19 he looks like a little kid just banging on drums lmao

  • such a talented drummer!

  • i think people don't give the guitarists of dillinger the credit they deserve. i dont know how they use to write together, but you should notice that chris is hitting all the accents that the guitar is hitting. it sounds all crazy and chaotic and mathy because the guitars are the same way; chris is doing a fantastic job of masking and adding that flavor that we all love. i'm a drummer and i love chris, but acknowledgement is due to the band as a whole for helping write drum parts.

  • I don't care what people say, Coheed is and always will be my favourite band. And Chris Pennie is not wasted, he obviously gets to play a completely different style then before, you can't say he's wasted when he's doing a different style. Child of the Fence for life<3

  • @FluffyMuffina Yeah dude exactly, Coheed and Dillinger are two of my favorite bands of all time, and seeing everyone dissing one or the other because of Pennie's switch is just super disappointing. You can like both for fucks sake haha

  • Coheed is better than Dillinger ever thought of being!!

  • @bradlee2010 errr no, just no :)

  • could it be extacy? :P

    nice jamming my friend :)

  • All this talent... and he's in Coheed and Cambria...

  • @monssavmik exactly. a great band to match his tallent. really give their guitarists and bassist a listen if you cant stand the vocals (big turn off for many people). they are very well rounded musicians

  • pennie freaks me out. hes like 33 but he looks like he's 56

  • they lost alot when they lost him.

  • i think they should tour wit DEP again

  • The final hit... BOOM

  • @birdman88945 Guns of Summer is pretty solid

  • anyone notice the mess up around 2:08-2:10 ?

  • @lechugaelectrico

    Yeah! haha

there was 15 and a half 16th notes to that measure! :P

  • Wow, I've listened to a bunch of Dillinger and a ton of other music, but this may be the most insane drum performance I've ever seen.

  • this is what youtube was for

  • his use soft hits are so amazing, oh my god.

  • Fucking amazing drummer.

  • I think this man takes performance inhancing drugs. they should do Olympic Style testing on him.

  • That's a perfect description. Miss Machine feels like a concept album in more than one way. It's hard to believe such level of technicality can be so powerful without turning into something boring, quite the opposite. It's like being stabbed in the balls!

  • hes so fluid its like chris is from a different planet and came to dominate earths drummers.

  • That guy is fuckin' awesome.

  • 2007bc lol

  • drum god

  • Is Chris the one responsible for that drum sputtering in 82588? I heard he recorded a few of the tracks, but I think that is the single most mind-shattering moment in Dillinger history.

  • He didn't record any drums for the new album, but he did write most of them. So I'm willing to bet he wrote that part, and Gil just recorded it.

  • That little tinkle on the ride bell and hi-hat at 1.51 always makes my head melt. What a massive legend.

  • i always enjoy that too.

  • did he use double pedal??

  • yes

    listen closely at 0:09

  • Saw them live at Warped a couple of years ago and my fucking are they intense. Chris fucking hits so hard.

  • favorite drummmer... wow...

  • BEST SONG EVER!!!!!!!!

  • Aren't you forgetting "We Are The Storm"? ;)

  • @Reegatron2 haha fail.

  • @Reegatron2 Seriously? have you not heard Guns of Summer? he goes into insane polyrhythms in that song. He may not be playing crazy mathcore any more, but he's still creating beats that are far above most drummers' calibers.

  • @versusthemayor

Yeah but that's the thing you see....I am of the belief that Chris Pennie was put on this earth to absolutely shred balls at breakneck speeds like a man possessed.

Sure his expertise blows every other guy out the way, but is he ever going to reach such heights again without being part of the wild animal that is Dillinger?

  • @Reegatron Maybe him being in a more well known band IS better for him. He could get the notoriety he deserves and eventually take his drumming career to totally new heights. But no lie, DEP was an absolute beast of a band when Pennie was in it.

  • @Reegatron2 Coheed and Cambria are not shit at all. They are just a different genre (one you don't like it seems) but they are all great musicians. Chris's tallents are wasted in them i agree and Coheed is my favorite band so i hear you on that one. Im both a coheed and a dillinger fan. kinda rude remark just because you don't like something though.

  • @solonaviavenger

yeah true it would be a rude remark....if it werent for the fact that theyre shit muahahaa I wish Dillinger had broken up sometime between releasing the Patton EP and Miss Machine. That way they would have had a perfect run... (you might have guessed at this point that I think Dillinger, too, became a bit shit after a certain point, even with Pennie still on board).

Why cant hardcore bands take the hint and break up after 2 albums! Instead they go on forever like NOFX

  • @Reegatron2

Coheed and Shitbria. Oh my, that's clever.

  • @yourname50 Not clever, just true.

  • @Reegatron2 He may be wasted on them, but Coheed and Cambria are a great band.

  • I saw them a week ago at the Academy 2 in Birmingham. Believe me the band are exactly the same. Go see em with the new lineup there is no change.

  • Soory I meant "pennie",not "Peenie" haha

  • They're still the most awesome live band ever! Seen em on 10th of april. THis was one hell of a concert mate!

  • Gotta love the strained almost cartoony faces that Pennie pulls during a session..Haha!

  • You're right, Chris Adler sicks, especially compared to this guy. *big fucking scoff*

  • why'd he join a bunch of a lame-os like coheed?

  • The money?

  • have you guys seen gil sherone? the new DEP drummer. he is the sickness. i am sad to see chris go, but gil kicks so much ass that i am not going to let it bother me. "fix your face" is awesome.

  • Both Chris pennie and Ben Weinman wrote the music for Dillinger. "He's my musical soul mate." Weinman says of Chris Pennie. So this is CERTAIN blow to the band. Dillinger won't be the same but i am certain weinman and puciato can come with crazy shit as well.

  • yeah, well - I still wouldn't call it such a BLOW since I don't think they'll totally loose their ability to write good music or play really astonishing live shows. I think the bottom line is that, if this would've been such a devastating thing for the band - they would have quit already. I still like both Chris as a musician and DEP as a band and i'm not here to flame anyone. I just strucks me odd, like people have already decided future's going to suck.

  • Yeah,I'll be honest..I had serious doubts about DEP as well when Chris left,he's unbelievable. But I saw them last night with Gil,and I can assure you they havnt lost anything live. Gil has done a nearly inhuman job learning the old stuff, and I was incredibly impressed with how tight the band was.If you closed your eyes would think Chris was still in the band

  • I honestly don't get this "Pennie was the essence of DEP"-talk. I mean sure the guy is a machine, but there's a lot of videos and recorded music to portray his followers skills and to me it just seems that the sticks are in good hands. And besides - do you listen DEP becouse of the drummer, or becouse of the music? To me it's the music. How about waiting the new album to come out first?

  • If Coheed keeps using 4/4 much longer, I think they will find themselves without a drummer, and I think Chris will see that Dillinger was his mecha.

It's not often that drummers has such a power over the bands influences.

  • ..or maybe chris just wants to do CoCa? I personally like both bands, and playing both simple and complicated stuff. And well - For now I can really say that Sharone made me very convinced. Things don't look too grim.

  • yeah, we'll see, I guess it just comes down to if Chris wants a freeride or not.

  • his best shits on calculating infinity without a doubt. theyve never touched that album since in my opinion

  • some of the drumming on that album is literally, ground breaking.

  • i feel as if the pure essence of dillinger comes from this guy, the rhythm changes he comes up with are amazing, not only do they sound great but they're hard to play, not the type of music a poser could have ass and get away with, each beat contributes to raw emotion felt in each song, man i hope this next album is something legendary, thats what they're making it out to be, i just want this type of music to go back in the dark and gain its respect and prestige it once had

  • Why? It's not the music's fault if it falls on thin ears. i do understand the whole passionate drummer thing, though. I heard the guy who replaced him also packs quite the punch, so.. you never know.

Perhaps when a poser gets tired of such skirmish, s/he can start some shit.

  • the most ownage drummer ever.whats ben to do now without chris?dam dillinger is really going down hill.

  • i love how he gurns when he plays. just like john mclaughlin when he plays guitar

  • he got some electronic arrangements degree at berklee

  • what the fuck.......every goddamn time I hear this song it sends my head into a spin......the finest drummer this world may see.....

  • He never studied drumming at berklee, it was something else

  • what does it for me is the way he uses shit that you would never think of using in this kind of music, and yet uses it so effectively you're just like DAMN. or something

  • this tune has got to be his finest hour(or 2 mins), dont know how someone can come up with these kinds of parts and arrange them so effectively, there's no chance of getting bored by endless technical crap

  • he went to berklee and it shows

  • he's a goddamn PhD in drums. seriously.

  • absolutely incredible drummer

  • Good Job on that song...an amazing drummer!
