Stalin managed to survive and made the USSR a new socialistic empire instead of going on with such a chimera as Trotsky's worldwide revolution. I think Stalin saved the world from that disaster.

That is Stalin's achievement. The empire was strong, and that was a challenge for the West too, but not as bad as Trotsky's edition state of bolshevik crazies, IMHO.

And there is one more thing. Most bolshevik revolutionaries were not Russians ethnically and culturally. The bolshevik project was utterly international. Russia was a victim of international terrorism.

So the bolsheviks, such as Trotsky, being internationalists in the worst sense of the word, started revolutionary terror without any mercy to the locals. Trotsky himself said that he had no motherland, that the word "motherland" was reactionary and obsolete. The worldwide revolution was the only purpose, and about destiny of Russian people Trotsky&Co did not give a damn. The Russians were considered a sacrifice. So I would prefer the Russian imperialist Stalin.

1. The term "terror" was official, accepted by bolsheviks themselves. That is what they were doing and that is how they called it. If You like Trotsky so much, You should know his speeches about revolutionary terror.

2. I have nothing against abolishing imaginary borders that divide humankind, but I do not think talmudists will agree with that. Those people who position themselves as victims of such division, set the borders themselves in fact.
