  • I got my C when I was 17. I now have 32 hours in 7 different gliders , and 11 hrs in power. It is MAD!!! My old man once did a 300km triangle cross country is his hornet sailplane. It took him 6hrs 2 min.

  • Not bad at all! Im doing a similar amount of hours as yourself. But the conditions in Australia are far better than here in UK !

  • Generally conditions are ok, but where I live we have height restrictions of 3500 AGL and 10000 1 hour away. My fav flight was a single seat Astir CS. Scared the shit out of me as well though.

  • Interesting ! I had similar restrictions when I worked for a company for year.

So you've flown an Astir CS as well? That was the plane that I used for my 6 hours flight. Cant believe that they called it 'The Concrete Swon' !!

  • ive once flown a glider too. i got dizzy from all the circling you need to do so i just lasted 1,5 hours in the air. my uncle has once been 10 hours in the air nonestop. whats your record?

  • Six hours and one minute. I had to do it for my Silver C gliding qualification. The minimum is five hours, so I stayed 61 minutes up too long, just being overcautious that I had five hours. I have many videos of that flight, Im just concerned that the Instructors will have a word with me by soo many videos in one flight :P
