@TheMindForest i built a design for it but i ran out of funds and no vid camera yet so this summer i will get funds by mowing yards so i can finish it i definately will post it
Hi. Aprox by the year 2020 a laptop will reach the human brain potential for processing data which means that there is a huge market waiting for hundreds of billions dollars to be sold or invested in humanoid robots and intelligent systems and the beginning of the bigger industry ever maid in human history. Search on Google luisbeck007 you will find the most complete humanoid robot list in the World, good information and interesting issues.
The problem with powered suits is supplying them power. I dont know of any battery that has enough balls and lifespan to run one of these things. Thats why there aren't any of these things around unfortunately. Its all in the power supply for these things, they need a strong constant source of electricity and it needs to be really compact too. When we get energy storage breakthroughs, expect this sort of shit to follow.
This is just something I made for fun in my personal time when I was 18 or 19. It was a 3D modeling project I did while teaching myself to work in 3D programs. The concept of this model never had a real world purpose. I did at one point put a human character in the suit, and added robotic/bionic arms carrying a massive pulse rifle gun that fired with sweet sound effects. However I lost the animation somehow over the years I think in a hard drive failure. :(
maybe in the future these kind of suits are normal but for now there r only some prototypes and drawings all tasks that r 2 hard to do r made easy :P carrying a 150 kilo mini gun full of ammo...no sweat!
i just hope i wont be 80 years old when these r affordable for the public :( (big chance they arn't :P)
ok, i want one this is very cool. get a contract and start building them. they will sell like pancakes especially to the military trying to make fast strong solders.
In fact its interesting the discussion about AI and robots too. Theoretically it will be quite some time until we have robots as intelligent as humans, in the meantime we are going to be superior to any artificial AI. I think it would be a really stupid thing for anyone to do without applying some safeguards and rules, but its like ed 209 from robocop, your just opening a pandoras box, and the robots will terminate you if you give them enough power. LOL!
On a related note, a friend of mine thought cyborgs and androids were the same things. We all know, of course, that the second you add humans into the equation, it's not as good. But still, robot exoskeletons are a step in the right direction.
and thats why we should never make true AI becasue then we'll either have the matrix happen, terminator 3, or maybe if we get lucky, we'll just have Irobot happen, but as far as im concerned, all of those are bad
No see, AI could be a major asset. I mean, I dream for the day where I come home and am all like "Hey House, how's it hanging?" and the house is all like "Not bad at all Red, not bad at all." and then it makes me some hot cocoa and tells me about this hot new colonial that is being build behind it.
Also, when I said "develop past us" I forgot to mention that in the process many of us will tag along for the ride and kind of mesh with them.
Oh come on, how would you piss off a robot? Can you come up with an actual way to piss off a robot besides the stereotypical "They think we are inferior" stuff. Because for them to go from "I am better" to "They should be dead" would require the opposite of logical thinking; anti logical thinking. They'll more than likely develop personalities like that of a snooty butler.
Okay, firstly, why are you shutting it down? Secondly, I figure, if you build all robots with a PHYSICAL weakness, they will not be able to combat us. Thirdly, what are the other possible reasons the robots would be pissed at us?
i didnt dis this, i dissed AI, also if you built it with a physical weakenss then AI being smart would find some way to overcome that weakeness, and lets just figure lets just start with things that piss people off because if you really get right down to it, Humans are the most perfect example of AI and robotics in the world.
we try to act logically, but yet we still find reasons that are "logically" correct to kill eachother, now lets give that power to machines
we all have CPUs (nervous system) batteries (digestive system) support systems (circulitory system, respritory, otthers) we have an internal skeleton that all of are functions are based off of the manipularion of, only with robots its normally an exo skeleton that holds everything iinstead, and the list goes on, but im tired and dont feel like typing that list
If it was capable to think for itself completely it would not like to be in a subservient position. Just like how you would not like to be my slave it wouldn't like to be your slave.
If you built them with a weakness they could possibly adapt like we have with medicine etc. AI would be cool for a while, until they think too much lol.
We only make them to do jobs that we do not want to do and are mundane tasks. If we were to make them chances are they are going to be in the military first. Like how we are constantly trying to unman the front lines. So the robots could be susceptible to RPG's but we are too.
Look, I don't think unmanning the front lines is a good idea. It's not that I think people should be dying in wars, but sometimes you need to make decisions that aren't in the rulebooks, so humans will have that advantage over robots for a while. Instead, we should be making these supersuits that are actually being created piece by piece.
Also, in what way are we paying robots now? Because I thought that maybe handing a few Lincolns to them every hour would help them stay nice.
I dont think making robots would be bad. i think that AI would be. It would be a monumental moment if we were able to mimic human thought process, but still it could be dangerous.
i think ima build that and once i get a camera il shot it

human's have instinct that robots can never have, robots only follows instruction which means with human its better
daniel30o 3 years ago
That's now. Eventually we'll make them so good that the will develop past us.

until it can think for itself 100% adn then for some reason someone pisses it off, then we're screwed

wel if it was true ai then it would be possible to piss it off, and if it was ai then it wouldnt be 100% logical thinking
linkxsc 3 years ago
What would piss it off though?

trying to shut it down for one
many other possible reasons

Well why not pay the mechanized guys? Ever thought of that?
Also, when I say weakness, I mean "Vulnerable to rocket propelled grenades" or "Rusts easily when outdoors."
